Our Beloved Lisa Frazier

Lisa has been a huge part of HCC since the very beginning. She has been loved by us all and will be truly missed.

Lisa Suzanne Frazier 62, of Leesburg, Florida passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Tavares Hospice House, Tavares, Florida. Lisa was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to the Leesburg area in 2005 from Bradenton, Florida. She served as church secretary of Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park for several years. Those closest to Lisa will remember her perpetual, joyful and encouraging attitude which shined through thick or thin. She was known for her hospitality and served as a "surrogate mom" for many. The loves of her life were her children and her husband, Jim, of nearly 42 years. A highly skilled cook and baker, she delighted in making cakes, and various desserts for family and friends. She loved kitchen gadgets and was a favorite customer of Pampered Chef. She would often jokingly proclaim that her favorite food was "Dead Cow". Her comedic wit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her loving husband Jim Frazier, Children - Joshua (Heather) Frazier of St. Petersburg, Florida; Nathanael Frazier of Washington, D. C.; and Rachel (Matthew) Franks of Wildwood, Florida; a granddaughter Charlotte and was thrilled to have her first grandson, William, on the way.

From the birth of Heritage Community Church, the leadership has always been seeking God's direction for the next step for everything we do. He has been so faithful!

Our church family has been also been faithful in the giving of their Tithes, which are used for ministry and the operations of the church. In addition, we have outside individuals who have walked alongside of HCC blessing us financially. The Overseers and Trustees made a decision to put the contribution of these individuals in a "Next Step Fund" in preparation for the future. Because of these funds, we are ready to take our next step - transforming our Worship Center into a multi-functional facility. This change will greatly increase functionality and expand our ministry opportunities.

On October 15, immediately after church, we will have a departure of our pews. Again, God's faithfulness has provided the opportunity for us to pass on the blessing that was given to us. A church in the Orlando area is so excited to be the recipient. Their pastor said, "Be assured these pews will be used for God's glory."

On October 16, the work will begin to replace the Worship Center lighting, enhance our stage lighting, replace sound components that are not working correctly, replace carpeting, and finish up with comfortable individual stackable chair seating. We will also be acquiring tables to be used for events.

This is a church family opportunity. There are three ways you can participate.
1  Financial: For those of you that are able to give beyond your Tithe, we will take up a one time offering on October 15. Our goal is to raise $50,000.  If you are not able to give on that day you can give at any time and mark it "Next Step."
2  Prayer: We know there may be those who at this time are not able to give an offering in addition to your Tithe. You can still participate by praying for God's Kingdom to be expanded through the opportunities He is going to give us.
3  Labor: Calling all men that have tools and/or muscles to help unscrew the pews and load them on trucks on October 15 immediately after church. We will provide you with a light lunch.

Reading The New Testament In 2017

For those of you reading through the New Testament with us this year, we hope that you are finding this journey as rewarding as we are.  Everyday get excited to see what God will show and bring to your life in His Word.  On Tuesday, October 1st, we will be on 1Timothy chapter 6.  If you haven't started yet, just jump right in and join us.  We do five chapters a week, Monday through Friday.  If you haven't involved your children, we encourage you to do so.  You can even set up a journal and keep an account of what God is revealing to you as you make your way through the scriptures.  If you happen to get lost or don't know where to start, each week we post in our congregational notes that we hand out on Sunday morning a list of chapters to read for the week.

Come out to Wayside Cottom Farm and join us for our annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 22nd from 4-6 pm. This is the PERFECT opportunity for our HCC family to invite friends and neighbors to enjoy an afternoon of food, fun and fellowship.

There will be hay rides, bounce houses, games, and face painting for the kids. There will also be corn hole on hand.  DJ Ronn will be there playing your favorite tunes. He's bringing his photo booth for us to have a keepsake for the day.

Bring a chair, and enjoy a fun, relaxing afternoon! Click on the button below to register your family.

REMINDER: THERE WILL BE NO MORNING WORSHIP AT THE CHURCH HOUSE ON THIS DAY

NextGen Student Ministry

October already and so much going on.... I pray everyone made it safe through the storm. It was wonderful to see how so many came together to help and be there for each other, including our youth. We are truly a blessed family.

Our first fundraiser for camp will be coming up before you know it. On Friday, December 8th, we will be having our annual Parents Night Out. This is a great time to leave your young ones with us and enjoy a date night or get some Christmas shopping done. We will have a movie, games, dancing, and a whole lot of fun. This is a donation based event and any funds given will go directly toward camp costs.

Thank you all for your continued prayer over our students and this ministry. We truly love our Heritage family.

Pastor Sidney Brock

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.     2 Peter 1:3

Thank you to all who stopped what they were doing and served not only the church family, but our neighbors and community during our recent hurricane.  We are so thankful for your willingness to serve others as a demonstration of your love for Jesus and others.

Our current sermon series is 2 Peter. We will continue this series through October. Why is 2 Peter so important? The concern in his second letter is simple - we need to pursue spiritual maturity to avoid false teachings. God's people need to know who He is. The only way to get acquainted with him is through His word.

Love,

Pastor Sid
