Message from the President

The Expo was a great success. Thanks to all sponsors, especially presenting sponsor Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and to all our exhibitors and volunteers.  We would love to hear any anecdotes you have of connections and/or sales while there!

Each year, the Leadership Fayette class has an assignment to learn about civic health and its four components, (1) social connectedness, (2) community involvement, (3) political action and participation and (4) confidence in institutions. This year, in partnership with Georgia Family Connection and the National Conference on Citizenship, Leadership Fayette will conduct the local version of the national civic health survey.

To be statistically valid, more than 600 surveys must be completed. We are thankful that the youth leadership program FYLP produced by AVPRIDE and the senior leadership program Encore produced by Fayette Factor will assist in data collection.  This survey is slated to go live next week. We will send out the survey via email or one of the Leadership Fayette class members may approach you in person to complete the survey. Please take the time to complete this important information about the social fabric of our community. The Georgia Family Connection leads the current Georgia initiative and has conducted the survey in four rural counties already. Fayette County will be the first metro area county to participate. We are excited to lead the way on this endeavor.

And speaking of surveys, the Chamber's annual survey will be in the next newsletter. I do hope you will take time to complete that one as well!

Carlotta

Each year the Chamber has an election to place new directors on the Board to serve two year terms, select officers for the upcoming year, and fill unexpired terms. Chamber by-laws direct that a Nominating Committee submit a slate of candidates to members for consideration.
