Hey dads! WatchDOGS. is a national program that fosters involvement of dads and father figures in schools. We're kicking off the 2017-2018 WatchDOGS. (Dads Of Great Students) season for Puesta Del Sol at Walkathon so that you don't have to find time for another after-hours event later. You were already coming to Walkathon, RIGHT? Bring your tacos from the food truck, learn more about the WatchDOGS., and sign up for a WatchDOGS. day at school. We promise to keep it to 15 minutes so you can get back to Walkathon and your families ASAP!

Puesta del Sol shirts will be on sale at walkathon today! You can also easily purchase Spirit Wear anytime during the school year. Make sure to check out the option to personalize your apparel via the online store.
All students and staff are encouraged to wear Spirit Wear on Wednesdays. Wearing your school spirit helps students generate more school pride and build a sense of community.
Purchase Puesta del Sol Spirit Wear for your child, yourself, grandparents or as classroom prizes. Spirit Wear also makes a great gift for your student's teacher or specialist! All proceeds are used by our Puesta del Sol PTA to support the many fantastic programs at our school.

Dia de Los Muertos Sugar Skull Fundraiser
|
|
|
Today, 10/6 at the Puesta del Sol Walkathon. $3.00 cash each, all proceeds will go to the Puesta del Sol PTA.
Girl Scout Troop 44202 will be selling Dia de los Muertos sugar skulls and taking orders for additional sugar skulls at the Walkathon. This fundraiser is part of a community service and business learning project for the troop, Sugar Skulls will be delivered in late October. 2017 Reflections Art Theme: "Within Reach"

Entries due Friday, 10/27 
Reflections is a national art competition that is sponsored by the PTA. This year's theme is "Within Reach" and entries can be made using multiple artful expressions (literature, film, visual art, photography, music and dance). Entries are due by Friday, 10/27 in the school office. Please see the PTA Reflections web page on how to enter, general rules, common disqualifiers and important dates. The online registration page and official form will be available in October.

PTA Grant: 1st Grade

The Puesta del Sol PTA has chosen to fulfill a $300 grant request from this year's first grade teacher team. In addition to the PTA-supplied "Handwriting Without Tears" workbooks, all 2017-2018 first grade students have been additionally supplied with a "Draw and Write Journal" to work on writing fluency skills. To all the Puesta del Sol PTA members that make this and other grants possible by your generous donations throughout the year, thank you! We couldn't do it without you!

Save the date! Join your friends in putting on Puesta del Sol's annual musical. First 50 4th and 5th graders to sign up get a part! Auditions for "Just Another Day in Wonderland" are coming up 11/20-21. First mandatory all cast rehearsal is the MONDAY after Thanksgiving so plan ahead to be home in time. Cast members need to be available at least 2 days/week for rehearsal M, Tu, Th, F and make all mandatory dates. Got conflicts? We cast around them!
