Fall 2017 Newsletter
Our Mission: To enhance Fremd High School student experiences by raising funds and providing support services for academic, athletic and cultural programs.

President's Message

As we start October, it is starting to feel like Fall. I hope that you and your students are back in the school-mode as we begin the second month of our school year.  I am honored to represent the Fremd Viking Booster Club as President this year. Our Mission is simple:

To enhance Fremd High School student experiences by raising funds and
providing support services for academic, athletic and cultural programs.

In order to fulfill its mission, the Boosters need your help. The strength of any organization is its members and the support of its community.  Last year, because of your ongoing support, the Viking Booster Club:
  • Donated over $100,000 to Fremd High School and its students in support of Fremd administration's "Wish List". This funding supported the needs of the many organizations at Fremd that might otherwise go unfunded within the operating budget of the school.
  • Provided twenty $1,000 scholarships to seniors who were eligible because their families were Booster members.
  • Organized Fremd's post prom event, arguably the most envied post prom event in the area.  Roughly 360 juniors and seniors attended post prom this past spring at the Bridgeview Cultural Arts Center.

In one way or another, I am sure that the Viking Booster Club donations impact every student at Fremd.

Now that the new school year has begun, our immediate focus is centered on three areas: Membership, the annual Dinner Dance and Volunteering - all areas that help us strengthen our community and better support the students of Fremd.

  • Membership. With this school year now in focus, I want to thank the more than 900 families for your annual $25 membership. I ask each of you to spread the word about the Viking Booster Club and act as ambassadors to increase our membership. If each of us can recruit just one new family to become a member, the Boosters would have even more resources to support Fremd and its students. Joining as a new member is easier than ever at our website, fremdboosterclub.org
  • Dinner Dance. Our signature event of the school year is 23rd annual Viking Booster Dinner Dance  on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Hundreds of items will be available through live and silent auctions. The support of the community and local businesses has made this event the largest fundraiser for the Booster Club, so mark your calendars to attend. If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation of goods or services for the auction. As noted above, the proceeds from this event, in addition to the Booster's other fundraising activities, especially our Craft Fairs, supports and benefits all Fremd students. So gather your family and friends for a memorable night supporting a great cause... our kids!
  • Volunteer.  The Booster Club is completely a parent-volunteer organization. We are always looking for energetic, interested people to help out.  Some of the committees that have ongoing volunteer opportunities include: Concessions, Spirit Shop, Post-Prom, Craft Fairs, Dances, and more.  You can volunteer as much or as little as you want.  Students can also volunteer (and earn service-hour credit) with several committees.  For more information on Boosters, or to volunteer, please visit us on our Fremd Viking Booster Club Facebook page or through our website
The success of the Viking Booster Club reflects the combined efforts of all our Fremd families.  With your continued involvement, Fremd will maintain its excellence in academic, cultural and athletic programs.  Thank you for supporting the Fremd Viking Booster Club!  Go Vikings!

SAVE THE DATE
Viking Booster Dinner Dance
Saturday Feb 10, 2018

The 23rd Annual Viking Booster Dinner Dance will be Saturday February 10, 2018.  Get stoked for a totally gnarly night of 80s flashback fun!

Mark you calendars now!  More information and sign-up for the night will be coming soon!

Volunteer Focus: Holiday Craft Fair

Planning has been going on all summer for the Booster Club's Winter Craft Fair on December 9th. Over 200 vendors will be lining the halls of the school selling holiday gifts, housewares, flowers, gifts and more!

We will need volunteers to help make the day a success.  Students and Parents can volunteer on Friday evening to help set up and on Saturday throughout the day.  You can sign up to help through the Volunteer Page on our website.  Select the "Holiday Craft Fair" along with any other area you're interested in helping at.  (HINT: Concessions and Spirit Shop are other great places students can earn volunteer credit!)

Viking Spirit Shop

Does your fall wardrobe need a little more Green and Gold? Check out what's new at the Viking Spirit Shop - there is something for everyone looking to show their spirit throughout the school year.
