This week I'm again writing from my office in Cafayate, Argentina having, over the past few weeks, moved my base of operations from Weare, NH. During the past two weeks or so my concentration has been totally on this move with very little attention to professional pursuits. While the effort has been intense, it's been focused on completely different issues than those I face as a professional copywriter. All this prompted me to consider the value of taking time off from everyday work. Here, Derek Thompson discusses the value of vacations in increasing productivity. It seems the human mind can concentrate productively only for relatively short periods of time. Breaks from that concentration reinvigorate the ability to concentrate and innovate. So, while I've been working hard, I expect to return to my copywriting work this week with new vigor, having taken a break from it. I will, of course, also have the satisfaction of a difficult mission accomplished. Whether or not you have ever undertaken an international move, let me assure you it is a huge challenge, and I'm pleased to have it largely done - I still have some details of arranging the shipment of the things I couldn't carry with me, but I'm here in comfortable surroundings and able to return to normal function.
Happy Employees Treat Your Customers Best
Another positive aspect of encouraging people to take regular vacations fits in with the theme I've addressed in several recent newsletters - keeping your employees happy. Happy employees are your most important asset. If you make their work enjoyable for them, they will keep your customers happy and, for most businesses, that's the best avenue to getting more business.
Do What You Do Best - and What You Get Paid for!

If you are in a business coaching or other business advisory role then, when you're working with your clients, you're doing the work you love - and that you get paid for. Generating the written pieces that will help you gain additional clients takes you away from that face time with the clients you are now helping. Why not let us at Unity Copywriting relieve you of that duty so you can get on with your business? As a longtime practitioner and student of what makes leadership successful, and in recent years a business coach in my own right, I'm uniquely qualified to articulate to your prospects and clients the benefits you offer them, and I love writing about it. In a fraction of the time it would take you to write a white paper, case study, or newsletter, I can learn what you want to say, the tone in which you want to say it, and then I can go to work concentrating on writing your piece while you do what you do best -  helping  your  clients meet their goals .

So...if you are, or someone you know is, in the business of advising or coaching business leaders on how to improve their organizations, let's talk about how I can help you promote that business. If you'd like to publish a periodic newsletter, or have a white paper or case study written, call  me ( 814-590-3854 ) or  email  me and let's discuss how we can work together.

Questions?  Comments?

Your comments are tremendously important to me - please let me know what thoughts or questions these ideas trigger for you. In particular, this week I'd love to hear your thoughtss on the value of vacations, and any other ideas you have for increasing your productivity. And, of course, let me know if you'd like to talk about a writing project on which we can partner up.   If you email a question or comment, please give me a phone number or a Skype address, or send me (see my Skype address below) a Skype contact request referencing my weekly emails (this reference is important - I'm fussy about my connections on networking services and, if your name isn't familiar to me, I'll accept your contact request only if you tell me why you want to connect with me). Conversations are often necessary to discuss complex ideas, and conversations occur only face to face or on the phone. Email and other forms of one-way electronic communication are data transfers, and don't allow for the exchange of ideas, emotions, and inflection that characterize conversations. Call me!

Please Help me Spread my Message Where It's Welcome..

If you find a topic here that you think will be interesting to a friend or colleague, you're welcome to pass it along to as many people as you care to. If someone forwarded this to you, and you would like to hear more, please send me an email and I'll be glad to add you to my mailing list, which I never sell, rent, or even add a name to without permission. On the other hand, if you find these messages irrelevant, or they clutter your inbox in an unwelcome way, please click the "unsubscribe" link below - I promise you won't hurt my feelings. My desire is to send these ideas only to people who find them interesting and helpful.

So...enjoy your week and contact us  to learn how we can help you add value to what  you  do. Of course there is no charge or obligation for us to discuss how we might work together. Join us again right here next week for more unique ideas on how to get more done in your life and business, while enjoying it more.

Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful week!
