Meet the Jung Society of Utah Members
From Jung Society member Peter Cornish:

I have very recently found and joined the Jung Society of Utah. I am an Australian transplant who moved to Salt Lake in 1994 with my wife Ann! We have lived in Sydney, Australia; Abingdon, England; New York, NY and Portland, OR. We have raised two young men who both now live out of state. Nala, our 7 year old yellow lab, keeps us smiling and pretty active.

My journey to begin the exploration of CG Jung's work is an interesting one. I grew up the son of a banker, studied computer science and developed some pretty strong analytical skills. Until my mid 20s I was very comfortable in the black and white world of numbers and definitive answers.

In 1984, I was in my late 20s and joined a software startup in New York City. The world was not so conventional and comfortable for me. These changes triggered my first bout of serious depression. This illness changed me to my soul. My life took a totally different direction.

Over the years, medications, therapy, and healthy life skills (journaling, exercise, diet etc.) have helped me manage my illness. I was fortunate enough to be able to retire early in 2009. I have sought out a number of volunteer opportunities to keep me pretty busy. I teach classes for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, I sit on the St. Mark's Hospital Clinical Ethics Committee, I am a member of the Friends of KCPW Community Advisory Board, and have recently started helping the Jung Society.

A few years back I decided to explore whole health options. I began to explore dream therapy, started a regular yoga and meditation practice and was introduced to and studied tantra philosophy. This exploration naturally led me to the Jung Society and I am thoroughly enjoying this new "not at all black and white" adventure!
