Know Your Barrista: Laura Labrada
Laura Making a Frappe

Cafe Justo y Mas's success depends on its team of Barristas.  CJM is committed to providing excellent service to its customers and opportunities for people in recovery from addictions to have a supportive work environment and to re-integrate into society.

Laura says, "Cafe Justo y Mas is more than a job its a family.  We obviously work, but we also laugh, cry and support one another.  I also enjoy learning new ways to make delicious coffee drinks."

CAFE JUSTO Y MAS
Earthquake Response

We are grateful for all the expressions of concerns and prayers for our sisters and brothers in Mexico who have expereinced two massive earthquakes in the last two weeks and reports of a third even as this is being written.  We have been in close communication with Don Lupe Morales, the president of the cooperative, he reports that while they felt lots of movement there has been no injury to persons or major damage to property in the coffee farming communities of Cafe Justo.

Cafe Justo y Mas has donated 10% of its cash on hand and is dedicating 10% of all sales for the rest of the month to relief efforts.

For those who would like to provide financial support for the relief and recovery efforts consider Presbyterian Disaster Assistence.

We remain in prayer for all those impacted by disaster whether natural or human and pray for wisdom and courage that we may respond in life-giving ways.  Lord In Your Mercy!

Solar Panels

Two-thirds of the energy needed for Cafe Justo y Mas and Cafe Justo is now provided by the sun thanks to the FDC Sustainabilty Revolving Fund and a loan from Trinity Presbyterian Church Tucson, AZ.  The Sustainability was begun with a generous donation from the Medical Sisters of Mercy in Double Adobe.  We hope to have 100% of the electricity needs covered by the end of the year.

Sweat-Free T-shirts

Enough For Everyone provides resources for the church regarding lifestyle integrity, green living and responsible consumerism at church and at home.  It is a ministry of the Presbyterian Hunger Program and includes the Sweat Free T program.
We print a lot of T-shirts. Unfortunately, almost all of the apparel readily available to us in stores was produced in sweatshops. The good news is that sweatshop-free shirts are available from Enough For Everyone partner, ready to print with your group's logo or design. Whether you're creating shirts for your youth group, upcoming mission trip, presbytery summer camp, congregational celebration or special event, put your faith in practice by choosing Sweat-Free Ts!
