Congratulations to Emma Brown! The Apalachee High School student has been named a "Commended Student" in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. Placing among 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students, this honor is about exceptional academic promise. Emma is a big piece of the educational excellence represented in our Nation and Barrow County Schools.

Honoring Our Patriots
Yargo Elementary Team Fleming honored Patriot Day by learning how people unite in times of need. While coloring different squares of the flag and putting them together, students learned that although we may all be different, together we make amazing things. Love these kids and their sweet hearts!
Georgia Power Supports Barrow Students
Thank you Georgia Power for your continued support and investment in the future scientists, engineers and leaders of tomorrow we have in our classrooms today. The generous $1000 donation will support students with future career pursuits at Sims Academy of Innovation and Technology, and also support the overall Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Integration throughout the school district. We are excited about additional discussion involving potential virtual field trips in Georgia Power facilities for Barrow students. These real-world science and technology learning experiences further enhance career exploration for students of all ages.
