High School Fair - Friday, October 13

Dear 7th and 8th Grade Parents,

If you haven't already decided on a high school for your child, I encourage you to attend our  High School Fair on Friday, October 13th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the gymnasium for our 7th and 8th grade students and their parents! We currently have 15 high school Admission representatives scheduled to attend. Please do not hesitate to visit me with any questions you may have about the admission process.
Even if you have already made your decision, this is a great opportunity to come and talk with your school's Admissions Rep. Face time is always valuable!!

If you have further questions, please contact me:  [email protected]

Sincerely,
Mrs Linnane

We know our teachers are great teachers, but here are some things you don't know.
This week featuring Mr.Mahony
(1st Grade)

1.)    If I could have dinner with anyone from history, who would it be?

I would invite the Roman Emperor Claudius. He was born with cerebral palsy, and a variety of physical challenges. Yet, he was the most generous and civic minded of all the Caesars.

2.)      What is your favorite ice cream?
Vanilla chip is my favorite ice cream. No contest!

3.)      List the best 3 things about yourself.

Let's see. Well, I love to laugh. I greatly enjoy the company of children...First Graders, especially. And I'm a pretty good cook. You can ask my wife. Or my kids.

4.)      If you were trapped on a deserted island, what book would you want to have with you and why?
If I were trapped on a deserted island, I would want to have a copy of The View from Saturday, by E.L. Konigsburg. If you don't know it, it's a book about a group of elementary students and the teacher who advises their debate team. But it's really about being a true friend, as a child, and as an adult, and having courage and doing the right thing.

September 22, 2017

Dear Parents,

As we transition from summer to fall, I would like to thank all the parents and students for their patience and cooperation!

The drop off and dismissal procedures have gone very smoothly and has ensured full participation during morning prayer which directly has contributed to an efficient academic schedule for the entire day. One inspired comment that came from a second grade parent from her daughter read "I love walking to class by myself, because I feel like an 8th grader, only shorter, but I will get there one day". This new found independence is what I am most proud to instill in our students!

Also, I appreciate that the parents and caregivers are monitoring the safety of their children after school hours.  We kindly ask that you continue this safety procedure.  As a reminder, children are not permitted to play on the Stapleton Hall property.

The kick off to our 8-week After School programs: Chess, Robotics Engineering, Tennis, Volleyball, Cross Country, Art Sculpture, and American Girl Doll Club are off to a great start! Special kudos to Kaloyan Dimitrov who has stepped up to volunteer with the Robotic Engineering club as part of his community service hours!

Please pray for those who are joining Bishop Frank J. Caggiano on the Historic Pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, in Washington DC, for the Dedication of the Shrine to Honor all Young People. A live broadcast can be seen on EWTN - channel 35 tomorrow, on September 23rd.

Just a gentle reminder, please be sure to check in with the security guard and/or the main office when coming in and out of the school building.

God Bless You!

The Helping Hands Team needs your help!
The St. A's Helping Hands Team is planning to do school beautification projects and to decorate the exterior of the school throughout the year.  The Team will work to create a warm and welcoming environment with seasonal and holiday decorations.  Now, the Team is collecting unwanted holiday decorations to be reworked/reused at St. A's.  Will you help us?  Perhaps you have a bag of jumbled Christmas lights?  Or Grandma has some plastic pumpkins she is not using? Please bring unwanted decorations to the big blue bin in the Parents' Corner by September 29th!  Thank you.
