DSL Football and Volleyball Games Begin!
Our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders kicked-off the fall sports season with games this week! There was excitement in the air as they warmed up in their uniforms for the first time this year. They were pumped and full of adrenaline as the first balls flew through the air. Both of the girls volleyball teams started off with big victories, winning their games in two straight! The boys charged forward with a victory of 13-0! They were so thrilled...visions of Super Bowl rings danced in their heads!

Kitchen Serving Breakfast!
Nutrition Management is pleased to announce that they will be offering breakfast beginning on Monday, September 18! Breakfast will be served from 7:00 am to 7:50 am before school for all students, and then 2nd through 8th grade students can purchase breakfast during their snack recess.  Students can use cash or their lunch account.
Please talk with your child about this option and perhaps discuss the rules of them ordering and paying for breakfast with their lunch account. We are very excited to offer this option, as a good breakfast is so important for learning, and we all know how crazy 'morning and kids' can be! Our Historic Anaheim Campus has piloted this program, and it has been wonderful for the children!

Socktober is Coming!
Like last year, it is with much excitement that our chapter of the National Junior Honor Society prepares to kick-off their first service project of the year, Socktober! During the month of October, our chapter of NJHS is partnering with LIMBS International to prove that even the smallest acts of love, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of children living without stable housing.
We have 25 pairs of socks for sale in the front office while supplies last (25 of each size: kids or adults, girls or boys). If you purchase your socks from the front office, you don't have to wait, plus you don't have to pay for shipping. If you order your socks to be shipped to your house it ends up being $15.50 instead of $12.00 for the limited quantity available here at school.

Get your orders in now on our  We Help page!

In celebration of Socktober, students may wear any of the fun LIMBS International socks during the month of October in place of their regular uniform socks.

We hope that you will take a moment to help us play a small part in giving homeless children and amputees around the world hope. Together we can make a difference, one step at a time.

Sincerely,
Fairmont Anaheim Hills' National Junior Honor Society Chapter Members

Fairmont Family Business Mixer
Friday, September 29 at 8:30 am
We've been thinking about creating a way for our parents at Anaheim Hills to meet each other and talk business. Many of our Fairmont parents own or operate their own businesses. Many parents are in senior management positions at a wide range of business entities. Others are influential people in their organizations. We all know a lot of people. The more connections we make, the better.

Here's the basic concept: We get together once a month. We have the opportunity to share what we do. We network and make connections. Our Fairmont families can realize mutually beneficial business opportunities.

It's all about who you know: For example, whenever we need anything, the first question most of us ask is something like this: "Do you know anyone who ...?" Fill-in the blank with what you need. A good doctor. A good lawyer. A good real estate agent. A good plumber. A good electrician. You get the idea...

Our Fairmont Family Business Mixers will be held in combination with our Cougar Coffees on the last Friday of every month. After you grab your coffee, come into the MPR and join us. We'll start the mixer by 8:30 am, and we plan to finish-up by 9:15 am. We plan to have parents share what they do, in a brief way, with the others in attendance. We also to plan to invite various brief, guest speakers.

We'll get together for the first time immediately following Cougar Coffee, on Friday, September 29, from 8:30 am to 9:15 am on the blacktop behind the MPR. Later that same day, stop by our booth at the Fall Festival.

Look for our booth right next to the ticket booth at the Fall Festival. Related to your business, if you'd like to offer something to give away via raffle at the Fall Festival, you can join the other businesses that are already doing so. Send us an email and we'll be happy to make arrangements with you.

The Fairmont Family Business Mixer has all sorts of great possibilities!

Husky Highlight
FIRST Robotics Club Cleans Up the Beach!
On Saturday, September 16, Fairmont Prep's Huskyteers (FIRST Robotics Competition Team 4913) participated in International Coastal Cleanup Day at Huntington Beach State Park. In addition to helping preserve our beaches and ocean, this activity helped new members to get to know returning veterans and vice-versa. They shared stories from past seasons, enjoyed the nice weather, and concluded the morning with lunch. We thank all parents who helped, especially Mrs. George, our team parents coordinator (aka "team mom"), and the Law Offices of Christa M. Hill APC for sponsoring the lunch. Our next team building and community service event is Friday, October 6, at Action Partnership in Garden Grove (Pack-A-Box).
