Father's Walk 2017

Attention Gilles-Sweet Students! Ask your father, step-father, grandfather, uncle, or father figure to walk you to school in support of education.

September 20 from 8 - 8:30 a.m.

Participants are welcome to donuts, coffee, and water in the cafetorium before walking their student to class.

Let Me Run Program

Let Me Run is a running program for 4th and 5th grade boys, but it's more about the boy than the run. Counteracting the negative pressures society places on boys, the program uses running as the vehicle to inspire, teach, and reach them. Combining exercise with fun activities and lessons, our trained coaches inspire boys to be courageous enough to be themselves, build healthy relationships, and live an active lifestyle. Registration at Gilles-Sweet is now open! Fall season starts on October 2, meets Mondays and Thursdays after school from 3-4:15 PM, and ends with a 5k race on November 19. Free Homework Help at the Cuyahoga County Public Library/Fairview Park Branch

The Cuyahoga County Public Library offers free after-school homework help for students in grades K-8. Students can receive assistance in language arts, math, reading, science, social studies, and other subjects from the library's trained staff. On Wednesday, September 20 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., you can meet homework mentors at an open house at the library.

Also, September is National Library Card Sign-up Month! Students in grades K-12 can apply for a free library card or have their fines forgiven on an existing card.

Fairview Warrior Traveling Basketball Tryouts

2017-2018 Tryouts

Friday September 29, 2017
Gilles Sweet Gymnasium

5:00-6:00pm 3rd & 4th Graders

6:00-7:00pm 5th & 6th Graders

Tryout Format : (there is no cost to tryout)

1/2 Hour Skills and Drills
1/2 Hour Scrimmage / Game Play

*Proper attire required: non marking tennis shoes, athletic clothing, etc. There will be a brief parents' meeting near the end of each hour.

Each player MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian to register and sign a Fairview Sports Association activity participation waiver prior to trying out! Players will be evaluated by independent non - partial coaches to assist FWTB coaches in making final team roster decisions.
