The season is changing and so is the energy of the 'go, go, go' vibe.  Have you noticed the pace has intensely picked up once summer ended and the Labor Day holiday over?  Many of you may have experienced terrible allergies, the common cold or even the flu.  I know there's been a lot of 'body suffering' (myself included) going around.

So that brings me to this - SLOW DOWN.
Take time to eat well, exercise and get really good rest.

So obvious right? But then, it really doesn't hit us until we are actually in
the immediate moment of feeling like crap.

September is almost over and soon enough the holiday(s) frenzy will be here, then you'll be stuck.  So give yourself the time and self care and consideration to:

Eat well + Exercise + Deep rest
=
Rejuvenate of the body and mind as a whole.

Your immune system will
be strong and ready for October, November and December festivities.

I know you already know this, just a friendly reminder to listen to your body, take care of yourself xo

MINDFULNESS
A Practice in Awareness:  Eating Healthy

Being mindful is not only for a meditation practice, it's for every aspect of your life to help you life fully with less stress.

This month we focus on being mindful of how we eat healthy without setting a high bar.

Basic Tips
1. drink 2 coffee cups of water every hour
2. reduce sugar intake to fruit (no bananas)
3. include protein every meal
4. add fresh greens to at least 2 meals per day
5. cook at home 4x a week
*6. add more vegetables to each meal
7. take the time to chew your food (your stomach doesn't have teeth)

I'm deeply enjoying *spiralized vegetables!!  I highly recommend.
Thank you Krista!

INVERSION LAB
Make friends with gravity

Have you tried inversions at the last 5 minutes of yoga class? Do you practice inversions on your own at least 1x a week?   Do you feel confident practicing on your own?  For handstand do you tend to just throw yourself up the wall and hope you stay up?  Do you banana back upside down?   Do your wrist hurt or tire quickly?

IF you have answered YES to all of these questions this
Inversion LAB 4week series is for you!

This series is open to everyone with a basic yoga practice and advanced students who are looking to fine tune their practice with specific drills and partner work.

If you really, really want to learn how to sustain an inverted pose like
headstand or handstand, don't hesitate, sign up today to start your
upside down journey.

YOGI FIELD TRIP!
for everyone

Sunday, October 8th
11:30am -12:15pm

The Rubin Museum is my FAVORITE place to visit in NYC!  When I had my corporate job, I used to treat myself to the Rubin every Friday night for live music, see the art and sculpture, and to sketch my jewelry designs.  Since I now teach Friday nights, it's not possible, but I still enjoying going whenever I can.
Bruce had the awesome idea to have a group field trip, which I thought was a fantastic idea!

The museum is filled with Buddhist and Tibetan art, a cafe and an awesome gift shop that I could (and have spent hours in).

Tune in to the sounds that compose your world. Join us for Deep Listening Workshops, based on the practice of Deep Listening developed by composer and sound pioneer Pauline Oliveros. Participants explore the difference between passive hearing and active listening, and delve into other aspects of the practice such as sonic meditations, body awareness, and listening to the sounds of daily life, nature, one's own thoughts, imagination, and dreams. No previous experience needed.
"Deep listening is my life practice." -Pauline Oliveros
This session is facilitated by vocalist and composer Viv Corringham.
Presented with the Center for Deep Listening at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Please text me if you plan to attend, so that confirm with each of you.
