HOMECOMING

Our annual Homecoming Dance is on  Saturday, October 14th 7:00-10:00pm (must arrive by 8:00pm to be admitted!) . The dance is held at Washburn in the big gym and cafeteria.  With the help of parent volunteers we make it a gorgeous venue!

Info for Students & Families:
  • This dance is open to all students in grades 9th-12th;
  • Only Seniors have a dress up theme that is just for them (Rock n Roll). 9th, 10th, & 11th usually dress up (not Prom formal, but look your best!);
  • Going with just one date is not required or the norm; often the most fun is to come with a group of friends;
  • There is not a professional photographer at the dance; many students make their own plans to take pictures before the dance;
  • Tickets will be sold 10/2-10/13. Tickets are not sold at the door; you must be on the list and have your ID to get in;
  • Do not bring bring large bags or backpacks, small purses only but there will be NO COAT CHECK THIS YEAR (so if you bring a small purse, you'll have to keep it with you the whole night);
  • Entrance at door #3 (note: no in/out privileges);
  • Absolutely no drugs/alcohol, tobacco, or weapons allowed; security staff will be present
  • People wishing invite guests from other schools need to complete guest form located in the main office. Forms for guests due by Wednesday, October 11th.
  • Tickets are $15 each. Cash only.
Parent Volunteers Needed
Please consider helping with decorating for the dance. We REALLY need parent help with making our school a beautiful venue for this fun dance. Slots available Friday afternoon & Saturday morning 10/13 & 10/14.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the before school and lunch hours. Students should not come down during a class unless they have a pass from a teacher.
ATTENDANCE OFFICE NEWS

Early Dismissals
If you're planning to have your student be dismissed early, please send him/her to the attendance office with a note first thing in the morning to get a pass to leave early. This will save you a phone call and eliminate the need for you to come into the building.

Early Dismissal for Illness
If your student is ill during the school day, please do not have them text home from the classroom. They should inform the teacher of their illness and visit the school nurse. Once they've visited the nurse, they will get a pass to leave the school if appropriate. This is the only way to have the absence counted as "excused."
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

National Honor Society is now accepting applications. If your student has a passion for community service, leadership qualities, and a 3.2 GPA, they should consider applying! You can print the application online or see Ms. Pederson in room 106B for a copy. Applications are due Sept 30th! Viist the  National Honor Society section  for more details about what it means to join NHS.
