LETTER FROM CCIA

One of CCIA's objectives is to help innovative cleantech companies enter the commercial market, in fact it's one of our favorite things to do. Our fourth annual Oil & Gas Cleantech Challenge was September 7, and we were pleased to offer our oil and gas partners (Noble Energy, ConocoPhillips, and BP Lower 48) another round of innovative clean technology solutions.

Each year our partners help us identify common challenges facing their industry that might be mitigated through a clean technology solution. Based on the identified challenges (methane detection, noise mitigation, remote power access, etc.) CCIA implements a national call for applications and then the industry partners choose which companies they would like to invite to Denver in order to learn more. Many of the technology companies from past years are still in talks with our industry partners and some have either signed commercial contracts or are working on pilots.

Earlier this year we offered the same cleantech challenge program to the mining industry and it was equally successful. We look forward to reporting back on their progress and successes in working with both industries.

Warm Regards,
Mary Austin
Partnerships Director
