Living in Community- Creates a Unified Family
The world can be a difficult place to live in for many people who struggle with heart ache, depression and social isolation. The struggles of life consume many so that they give up on finding close and meaningful relationships. A spiritual family that can be found in a church of Jesus followers creates an amazing bond when a group of committed people find a unifying sense of mission. The Ekklesia Church may be small but it is made up of a group of committed people who deeply love one another and feel a compelling sense of the mission Jesus has called us into. We know that the forces of darkness want to stop our attempts to connect with the community and love people deeply. We know that the evil one wants to thwart our attempts to heal and help those in need. We know that our commitment to Jesus will only draw us closer together as we work together to love others and serve one another. This is the type of community I love and know that we have found in the Ekklesia family. People need this type of belonging and sense of community. The world is hurting and in desperate need of this type of love in their lives. Let us all realize the deep riches found in a community of Jesus people and the strength to be found in this family!

Kaiser Permanente Port Orchard Clinic Set to Build Tiny Cottage #11 on Sept. 30th

Next Saturday, September 30th the Kaiser Permanente company has committed to build the first of three tiny cottages for the new Kitsap Cottages village for homeless residents of Kitsap County. Redge Campbell the regional manager for all three Kaiser clinics on the Kitsap Peninsula met with Tim Blair on Thursday afternoon along with Brian Robinson a local contractor who has agreed to lead the volunteer crew of Kaiser employees. The Kitsap County Kaiser company has raised money from among their employees along with matching funds. This money will sufficiently pay for tiny cottage #11 that will be added to our growing collection of houses that are all bound for the new village in South Kitsap. It is so exciting to meet with community volunteers who are truly energized about serving the poor and lending their efforts to our ministry. As the fall air grows cooler we know that we are getting closer to the reality of the village for the homeless. Let's keep the work going and pray for God to open the door for the new site so we can begin the work set before us. We will need to move all the prebuilt houses to the site, finish their interiors with electrical wiring, lighting and small wall mounted heater units. The grounds will need preparation along with the work to prepare the community kitchen and bathroom facility.
