EXCERPT FROM
THE
PILGRIM
"The Deep Down"
by Darrel Bompastore

Every day I try to laugh.
May it be caused by
my own words, or actions.

I listen to other people.
Some are funny
with the words they use.
Yesterday a word was used
that I hadn't heard for some time.
The person who used it
got me to think,
which got me to laugh.
Today I can't remember
which word it was.

Today it's raining
but that won't stop me laughing.
I will seek a good laugh
from someone
or dig deep within myself.

FAITH MATTERS DEBUTS SEPTEMBER 24

The marks, or spiritual capacities, of a Christian life, what Presiding Bishop Michael Curry calls the "Jesus Movement," are gratitude, belovedness, humility and resilience, curiosity, freedom, joy, and compassion.  Our adult education program, formerly called InFormation, has a new name:  Faith Matters , which debuts this Sunday, September 24, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Lawrence Room (following Coffee Hour). This Sunday join us at Faith Matters to share, cultivate, and grow our capacity for "Holy Curiosity."
