NASA JPL Fiber Positioner Project Completed
Slim SCARA robot with integrated controllers
This month we celebrated successful completion of our program with NASA JPL/Caltech to design and manufacture the Cobra Fiber Positioner, a slender, two-stage rotary positioning system. Learn more about the Cobra Fiber Positioner
Advanced manufacturing in the USA
Over an 18-month period we manufactured and shipped Cobra assemblies with 5100 custom rotary piezo stages and controllers from our USA facility near Rochester, NY. Developer's kits are now available for our newest "all-in-one" micro positioning stage
The M3-LS-3.4-15 Linear Smart Stage has a 15 mm travel range and moves loads of 200 grams (horizontal orientation) or 100 grams (vertical orientation).
This is more than 2x longer travel and 10x greater load capacity than our original M3-LS-1.8-6 micro positioning stage. Download the M3-LS-3.4-15 data sheet
Embedded controller for smallest size, easiest integration
As with all M3 modules, the piezoelectric micro motor and all drive electronics are completely integrated in the tiny stage housing. There is no external control board, making it fast and easy to integrate into OEM instruments. Learn more: See what's inside an M3 module
