webinar will explore:
- The key elements shared by innovative nonprofits
- A diagnostic tool that nonprofits can use to determine their innovation capacity
- A set of resources nonprofits can access to build their innovation capacity

A SELF-CARE STARTER KIT: AN ESSENTIAL SURVIVAL TOOL FOR HELPING PROFESSIONALS
REACH
October 16, 12:30 - 4 p.m.
Location: Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre, 11000 Stadium Rd.
$35 for REACH members; $45 for non-members
Working with individuals, families and communities in any capacity is rewarding work for all types of service providers, however, supporting survivors of trauma, violence and abuse comes with a host of challenges that can deplete internal resources of those in the front-line caring professions.
This is increasingly evident as we are asked to do "more and more with less and less," which may threaten to overwhelm coping abilities. The most important part of coping with the intensity of the work is to acknowledge its impact on mind, body and spirit.
This
workshop will provide an overview of compassion satisfaction and fatigue and vicarious trauma and burnout. Participants will have the opportunity to explore and share self-care strategies within a holistic framework.
