Deadline Extended Until September 27 for Summer Data
Please ensure all summer demographic, attendance and outcome data are up-to-date by the evening of Wednesday, September 27, 2017. We have allowed for an additional 8 business days to make up for closures due to Hurricane Irma. The Children’s Trust will pull program data for annual end-of-year reviews on the morning of September 28, 2017 for summer camps (YAS), youth enrichment summer programs (YEN with May 1 start dates only) and early childhood summer programs (EEI).
Second TRIM Hearing Wednesday, September 27
The Children’s Trust’s first rescheduled TRIM hearing was successfully held Monday, September 18. The second, legally required public hearing to approve The Trust’s fiscal year 20017-18 budget and millage rate will now take place Wednesday, September 27 at 5:01 p.m. in the United Way Ryder Room.
End of Year Reminder
The end of The Children’s Trust fiscal year is fast approaching. Please submit all final invoices as soon as possible.
Financial Relief for People Left Unemployed After Irma
Federal disaster unemployment assistance is available to workers and the self-employed affected by Hurricane Irma. To qualify, your work must have been lost or interrupted by the storm resulting in your inability to work or perform services because of physical damage or destruction to your place of employment. Those approved for disaster unemployment will receive up to $275 a week, according to Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). The application deadline is October 14. Temporary Post-Irma Jobs Available
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is hiring staff to help with disaster recovery. The agency is seeking damage verifiers and construction analysts; lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants; loan specialists; customer service representatives and public information officers; and IT specialists.
