Greetings,
Our 137th Annual Session in Louisville, Kentucky was truly a great week which was filled with great singing, teaching and preaching. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support. I also want to personally thank our hosts, St. Stephen Baptist Church, Simmons College of Kentucky and Dr. Kevin Cosby along with
Kentucky Baptist for your outstanding hospitality. Let's remember that the best is yet to come for us individually, as well as collectively.
Please mark your calendars for our Mid-Winter Board and Mini Congress which will be held on February 26-March 1, 2018 in New Orleans, LA, where our host will be the New Hope Baptist Church, Rev. Jamal Weatherby, pastor.
This session will focus on Ministry to Men and the information presented will be life changing for our men. On Thursday, March 1, 2018, which is an additional day added, we will focus on Mass Incarceration. We will have very knowledgable and resourceful presenters offering solutions and action plans that our churches can embrace. I am asking all pastors to please make plans to attend and bring an additional 5-6 men from your church. More information on the Mid-Winter Board and Mini-Congress will be available by October 15, 2017.
In addition, I am asking that you continue to keep our brothers and sisters who were devastated by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma in our prayers. NBCA is responding through our Home Mission Board and member churches, associations and state conventions. We are united with Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention in our response because we are definitely stronger together.
Lastly, let's remember that on Friday, September 29, 2017 is the release date for the movie "A Question of Faith." We saw a private screening in Louisville and this is definitely a movie that churches and families should go see together. Let's fill theatres on the opening night!
