VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
Andrea Gonzalez
Shelter Volunteer Andrea Gonzalez enjoys venturing to new hiking grounds, learning new skills, meditating/self-care and helping those in need of support. She works as a TMS technician and attends to multiple volunteer obligations. Prior to becoming involved with Freedom House, Andrea remembered a heartbreaking high school presentation on human trafficking in the United States. As she got older and more involved in her field of clinical psychology, she knew it was time to help. She Googled human-trafficking organizations in the Bay Area, found Freedom House, and signed up for the Shelter Volunteer training. After being with The Monarch women on hikes, at dinners, and to the movies, Andrea feels honored to have the opportunity to spend time with these brave survivors, and says she has learned greater life lessons than she ever could have imagined.
