Arrow Head Cove Hydrilla Treatment Notice
September 18, 2017

Folks,

We have receive the following notice regarding hydrilla treatment in Arrow Head cove:

"On Aug. 4, 2017, a field crew from the Deep Creek Lake Management Office observed several small patches of hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata) while conducting plant surveys in Arrowhead Cove. Due to the high boat traffic in this area, quick action was taken, resulting in the application of a fast-acting contact herbicide Aug. 9. While this action was effective, return visits to the site show some hydrilla is still growing. Another application of herbicide will take place Thursday, Sept. 21. This is expected to be the last treatment for the 2017 season.
Access to the cove may be limited briefly while the applicator is conducting the treatment, but there are no water use restrictions once complete. Water may be slightly darker for a few hours after treatment. This will dissipate quickly.
Follow-up emails will notify you of any changes to the proposed date. We will provide as much advance notice as possible, but please understand that changes can be caused up to the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances.
Please email Mark.Lewandowski@maryland.gov with any questions concerning the hydrilla control program."

   Cheers,

President
