A Fair Fix for Ohio's Unemployment Compensation System                  
   
House Bill 382, the latest attempt to fix Ohio's broken unemployment compensation system, has now had three hearings in the House Government Accountability and Oversight Committee. However, testimony was only heard at two of those hearings because no one showed up at the second to testify either in favor or opposition to the legislation. Read more about the hearings and the Ohio Chamber's letter outlining our opposition to the bill in its current form.  
 
Reforming Excessive Real Estate Counter-Complaints 
 
Over time, there has been a growing problem in the state concerning real estate values. Many governmental entities, particularly school boards, have hired a small group of law firms to increase values on many properties, particularly industrial and commercial. Learn more about HB 343 and how it could correct this issue.
