Greetings,

It was a fast October with two of our biggest events of the year. ArtsGoggle was tremendous, with thousands of people coming to the Near Southside to take in art from hundreds of artists. We had our annual students sale and pumpkin patch. The glass blowing demos were done by students from UT Arlington's glass department. View images from the event HERE.

The Pride of Southside Homebrew Invitational was our other October event. This was the third year for POSHI, and was presented in partnership by the amazing folks at HopFusion Ale Works. The Loop - Artist Rehearsal Space provided amazing music while we sampled some outstanding homebrews. This year POSHI was an official North Texas Beer Week event. The BJCP competition was won by Clifton Ellis. He gets to brew his winning beer at HopFusion. The Best in Show winner, as voted by the attendees was Strange Union Brewery. Congratulations! As we get closer to the holiday season we will be offering scheduled ornament workshops in our kiln forming and glass blowing studios. Kiln Forming Glass Blowing

There will also be kids half day camps offered towards the end of December. They will be held in the kiln forming and flame working studios. Day Camps

Wine Down Workshop

November 18th 3p-5p, or 19th 12p-2p

$85 per person

Come in and create a cheese board and matching(or not) cheese knife handle in our kiln forming studio. BYOB and you must be 21+ to drink. Board and knife will be wrapped and available for pick up in 5-7 business days from the original class date in the SiNaCa Studios Gallery. Click HERE to register.

Newbie Classes

Experience workshops are the perfect way to be introduced to working with glass in any one of our three studios. Use the links for full descriptions, availability and prices of the classes.

Experience Flame Working -
A 3-hour workshop working with both soft glass and borosilicate glass in front of an open torch.

Experience Kiln Forming -
A 2-hour workshop working with Bullseye glass in its solid state to create two unique projects.

Experience Glass Blowing -
A 2-hour workshop working with glass at 2100º, creating two items.

Experience Sand Casting -
A 30 minute workshop where you will make your very own sand cast glass tile!

Open Studio Night

November 10th | 6pm-9pm

Join us the second Friday of each month from 6p-9p as we host an open studio night at SiNaCa. This is your chance to find out more about the "magic" that goes in to creating glass art. As the artist creates their work we give you an interactive play by play, so you can understand better why they do what they do. Our on site gallery showcases our featured artist to give you a close up view of what they create. Its also the perfect time to find out how you can get involved in learning how to work with glass.

Glass Classes

SiNaCa Studios offers a variety of ever evolving hot and warm glass programs. We offer short term classes ranging from 20 minutes to 3 hours in our hot shop (glass blowing studio), kiln forming studio and flame working studio. If you want a more in depth learning opportunity we have 6 week extended programs in the hot shop, and 3 week extended programs in kiln forming that give you a greater understanding of the different ways to manipulate glass.
