Kicking Off Kickball
It's time to register for Kickball Without Borders! Don't let your firm miss a fun event at Glenhaven Park, Saturday August 12th. Participating in this fundraiser is a way to build team spirit, network with professional peers, and support two hardworking humanitarian organizations: Architects Without Borders-Oregon and the Portland Professionals Chapter of Engineers Without Borders. Last year 23 firms came out to play, and we hope to have even more this year.

For details about the tournament go to Kickball Without Borders 2017

King School Park redesign moving forward
Earlier this month about 20 neighbors attended the King Community Park Design Dinner, the latest in a series of community charrettes for the redesign of King School Park in Northeast Portland. Nature play, water features, and benches were among the 30 images and ideas that participants viewed and responded to individually before breaking into groups for more in-depth discussion. Comments touched on the pros and cons of an existing berm, good locations for benches, the possibility of a circuit training track, and especially the need for shade and shelter. AWB facilitators helped guide discussion and capture perspectives and suggestions. For an updated slide presentation on this project go to: http://www.awboregon.org/current-projects/2013/06/green-king
