About the Presenter

   
Kris Rouleau – McREL International

Kris works with schools, districts, and state departments of education as they navigate change and implement practices and structures to reduce variability and increase student achievement. Through consulting, coaching, and facilitation of workshops, she provides services, strategies, and technical assistance to support change efforts. Kris is a licensed school administrator and brings more than 20 years’ experience in education, working in a variety of racially and culturally diverse communities. She has served as a classroom teacher, curriculum specialist, elementary school principal, and district-level curriculum administrator. As a district reading/language arts specialist, she worked with classroom teachers and principals to improve instruction, assessment, and intervention practices to improve student achievement in reading.

Unleashing Student Curiosity to Learn  

July 10-11, 2018

Denver, CO

Explore why and how curiosity can be sparked and sustained within your students, helping them become engaged, motivated, self-directed learners who “own” their educational journeys. Participants will also receive extended virtual coaching during 2018-19 school year. 

Get tools, tips, and ideas for:

  • Creating challenging learning tasks and higher-order questions that push students to deeper levels of content understanding and application. 
  • Providing students with feedback that motivates them to improve and expand their learning. 
  • Creating learning intentions, narrative, and pacing that engages students with lessons. 
  • Providing students with opportunities for inquiry-based cooperative/group learning.
  • Using formative assessments and data to make key adjustments to teaching and learning.
Registration fee:

$399 per person. Includes 2-day workshop and extended virtual coaching, plus lunch and refreshments.
