November 6, 2017 City Council Meeting
The City Council meeting on November 6, 2017 will be held in council chambers at 1133 66th St. at 6 p.m. Click here to view the agenda. 
Sunset Terrace Update
68th Street to 70th Street
The Contractor will install subdrain along both curb lines the week of November 6th along with pouring the intersection of 68th Street and pouring driveways.The intersection at 68th Street will be closed for 1-2 weeks to pour concrete.Once all concrete is complete, they will begin finish grading and seeding.
 
70th Street to 73rd Street
The Contractor will pour the remaining concrete at the intersection of 70th Street the week of November 6th. Final grading and seeding will be completed once all concrete work is complete.
The estimated completion date for the Sunset Terrace is November 15th. 
Intersection Closure
The intersection at Sunset Terrace and 68th Street will be closed starting Monday October 30, 2017 until November 13, 2017. 
2017 Sidewalk Improvement Project
Work will continue on 64th Street between Carpenter Avenue and University Avenue the week of November 6th. Barricades will be removed from driveways when the driveways can be accessed.
 
Contractor will be installing erosion control logs along the curb line and installing temporary spray mulch to prepare for winter.  In the spring they will seed the areas.

Residents looking for a quote to redo the remaining part of their driveways can call Kingston Services at 515-221-9832.This work will not be part of the project. All work is between the homeowner and contractor.
University Avenue Redesign Update
The concept design process for the University Avenue Redesign started on July 10th with a presentation from Bolton and Menk. Mayor Willits appointed over 50 stakeholders to serve on the complete streets advisory committee and taskforce committee for this project at the July 17th council meeting.The complete streets advisory committee has met twice.The meeting notes are located on our projects page. On our website is the proposed timeline including the upcoming meeting dates for this project. Get Involved and Help Shape the Future of Windsor Heights
Volunteer for a Board, Commission or Committee: The Mayor and City Council hope you will help continue to make Windsor Heights a great community to live, work and play. There are several volunteer opportunities if you are looking to become more involved within the community. There are three openings on the Planning and Zoning Commission, one Development Committee, one opening on Board of Adjustment, one Public Safety Committee and one Public Works Committee. We are always looking for volunteers for special events. Contact us if you have any questions on how you can get involved in Windsor Heights. Save the Date-City News Hour January 8th
The City News Hour for January 8, 2018 is at 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Windsor Heights Community Center will be the University Avenue redesign concepts. From 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., will be an interactive presentation on the concept designs for University Avenue. Attendees will be able to do instant polling and provide immediate input on the design amenities and roadway concepts.  From 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., we will have a question and answer section. During the month of January, we will have the survey online for you to take if you cannot make the city news hour. We are looking forward to your input on the project.
