ASiF's Smallworks Holiday Show...
The Artists' Studio in the Foothills (ASiF) is thrilled to announce its 9th Annual Smallworks in the Foothills Holiday Show!
On Friday, November 10th from 5 - 8pm, the center invites the public to celebrate this special holiday exhibit with fine art, food, wine and live music! Many agree this is ASiF's best event of the year - combining holiday gift shopping with a fine art gallery experience that supports local artists!
Each year the Smallworks Holiday Show brings the center's the gallery walls to life with hundreds of original, one of a kind works of art... paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, mixed-media art, jewelry, ceramics and sculptural & functional works of art, all under twelve inches in size and perfect for holiday gift giving.
Each carefully composed gallery wall is a work of art in itself consisting of one or more of each of the
forty-plus participants' up to ten art entries. For this special gallery event, hundreds of small artworks are collaged together - some by theme... Trees, birds, water, landscape and figurative works, and others in groups by featured artists, creating a kind of visual poetry in which the walls themselves, like vibrant mosaics, invite the viewer first to ponder the creative interpretations of various themes, and then to explore the intimate details of each artist's unique vision.
As tradition will have it for this exhibit, artworks will be continually "sold off the wall" creating an ever changing show. Guests are encouraged to shop and to take their purchases right away - so that each time a piece is sold a new one may replace it. The juried show continually accepts new artists and artworks throughout the course of the show.
The Foothills Ceramic Art Museum, located within the center, will feature a holiday exhibition titled,
Dinner at 8, featuring functional artistic dinnerware by 50 national and international artists. This exhibit is part of the museums' 700 piece permanent collection of internationally acclaimed ceramic artists' works.
The Friday evening event promises to be a delightful treat, offering guests delicious desserts, fruits, nuts and wine and featuring live music by jazz and classical pianist Gregory Young.
"And mark your calendars for next month too!!", says Amanda Paoletti, ASiF owner-director. ASiF's Holiday Open House & Trunk Show will be held on Saturday, December 9th from 11am - 4pm. This is an all day event featuring special guest jewelry artists, demonstrations and drop in holiday gift making workshops throughout the day. The Holiday Open House on December 9th is a family friendly - interactive holiday art event!
The Smallworks Holiday Show runs from November 10th through December 23rd. The center is open to the public Tuesday - Saturday, 11am - 4pm with extended Holiday hours on Sundays in December.
