Hello, Linda here - welcome to our weekly newsletter!

Thank you again for all your good wishes for Laura - they must be working because she felt so much better this weekend. So much so that we popped over to Dudmaston Hall to enjoy their annual Apple Day! Amelie was very happy to throw some of our windfalls into the crusher before the pulp was put through the press to make juice! Back home I fancied doing a bit of dressmaking this week.  I've made yet another version of the Relaxed Dress from Ottobre magazine. Never can have too many comfy dresses and I needed to make good use of the lovely spotty jersey I bought at Festival of Quilts in the summer! There are a couple of pictures over on my blog if you'd be interested to see more.

New video workshop on DesignMatters TV
Fabric Art Diary - Part One

Around this time last year I made an 'art diary' sketchbook. I really enjoyed the process and I know lots of DMTV viewers worked along too. I've decided to try something similar this year, with a twist! This time I'll be making a fabric book. It's going to be a manageable project that you can work along with, and a brilliant way to try your hand a lots of different surface design techniques. I'm starting this week with making stencils and using them with fabric pastels and paint to create the first pages. I hope you'll enjoy it!

The video workshop is for members only but if you haven't signed up already we'd love to have you  join us  now. Just choose 'Membership Videos' from the menu and you'll see 30+ titles in the current playlist.
We hope there's something to tempt you there!

What's on?

Sky Arts Landscape Painter of the Year 2017

If you do have access to Sky tv, then you might have spotted the new series of Landscape Painter started last night. We love watching and seeing if we can spot who the judges will pick as their landscape artist of the year. We rarely get it right!

Kurt Jackson: Cot - Cornish Valley

One of our favourite landscape artists is Kurt Jackson. Are you familiar with his work? His new exhibition has just opened called Cot - Cornish Valley. It's on until February so there's plenty of time to catch it, but if you can't the catalogue is online which is well worth taking a look at.

Thank you for catching up with our news this week. We'll be back soon with more.

Love Linda
