I nspire Theatre Presents, "It Happened One Fright" -  Get into the Halloween spirit with Inspire Theatre's newest feature, "It Happened One Fright."  The show begins on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. with a special 3:00 p.m. showing on Sunday, October 22.  The show takes place at the Westland Center for the Arts, located at 33455 Warren Rd.  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit http://inspiretheatre.com/index_files/Page266.htm

Wesltand's HALLoween Celebration -  Join us on  Wednesday, October 25  from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the City of Westland's HALLoween Celebration at City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.  The event will include trick or treating, arts and crafts, donuts and cider and a Halloween movie!  This is a free event for children 12 and under and attendees are encouraged to come in costume!

Scheduled Upcoming Civic Meetings - Residents are invited to attend the upcoming City meetings.  Below is a list of the meetings with their date, time and location:

Downtown Development Authority
  • The DDA meeting will take place on Thursday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.

Halloween Glow Skate - Come out for some glow in the dark Halloween fun on Friday, October 21 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:20 p.m.  The Mike Modano Ice Arena, located at 6210 Wildwood will have the black lights on, top 40  music playing and prizes for best costume!  There will also be free candy for skaters!  

Run for Your Life 5K - One of Westland's newest businesses, Crunch Fitness is hosting their first annual Halloween 5K on Saturday, October 28.  Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at 36601 Ford Rd. and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m.  The event is free, but donations of any amount will be accepted.  All proceeds will be donated to the Samaritas Family Center in Westland.  Donations of $20 will get participant a t-shirt and donations of $40 will get participant a t-shirt, bottle and bag.  

Norwayne Harvest Fest/Trunk or Treat - Norwayne's annual Harvest Fest and Trunk or Treat event will take place on Saturday, October 28 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m at the Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center, located at 32150 Dorsey.  Activities will include a petting zoo, pony rides, cider mill activities, lunch, trick or treating, face and pumpkin painting.
