Call for Action!
|
The National Association of REALTORS® issued a Call for Action, this week, directed at all Members of Congress, on the subject of tax reform.
A tax reform outline, released by a study group in September, doubles the standard deduction and eliminates all personal deductions except the Mortgage Interest Deduction and the deduction for Charitable Contributions.
The plan eliminates the deduction for State and Local Taxes.
This one-two punch will deliver a crippling blow to middle class homeowners by removing economic incentives for home ownership and raising taxes by an average of $851. By doubling the standard deduction, the Mortgage Interest Deduction would only be available to the top 5% of taxpayers.
The action letter is pre-written - all you have to do is enter your information and send it in.
Answer the Call for Action now!

REALTORS Will Fight for MID
|
The Wall Street Journal wrote an editorial "Tax Reform, if You can Keep It," on September 28th.
NAR says this editorial misses a key point of agreement between the Journal and REALTORS
® - we support fiscally responsible tax cuts.
Unfortunately, that isn't what a careful read of the recently released "framework" for tax reform represents.
REALTORS
® will fight for the Mortgage Interest Deduction.
Defending middle-class homeowners isn't "greedy," because home ownership isn't a "special" interest. It's a common interest.

online here.

Determination of Non-Significance
|
Your SAR received, this week, a Determination of Non-Significance from Spokane County concerning Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA) #55 on the Little Spokane River (North Spokane County).
This is a big step toward establishing a water bank as a work-around to last year's Hirst Decision by the Washington State Supreme Court that practically shuts down all rural development in Washington State.
We've bundled the three documents in this matter into one PDF file, and offer it to you online here.
