CMS Seeking Input on Eight Draft Episode Cost Measures
In an effort toward the use of episode-based cost measures in Medicare, the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services is pilot testing eight new measures that it expects to use in the future to determine physician scores in the cost component of the Medicare Incentive-Based Payment System. Internal Medicine Meeting to Offer Opioid Workshop
The Minnesota Chapter of the American College of Physicians will host a half-day workshop on the Minnesota opioid crisis and current state efforts to address it on Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Minneapolis Convention Center.  The workshop will be featured as a part of the MMA's ongoing opioid lecture series.Read more here.
Quality Improvement Project to Raise HPV Vaccination Rates
Do you know your clinic's HPV vaccination rates? Are you looking for strategies to increase HPV vaccination among your adolescent patients? The Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians and Minnesota Department of Health are working to increase HPV vaccination rates across the state. Clinics can receive a free consultation with a family physician HPV champion and public health expert to create a custom quality improvement plan. The consultation includes CME accredited, peer-to-peer education on evidence-based strategies for increasing on-time HPV vaccination and a clinic-specific HPV vaccination rate assessment from the Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC).
