Reformation Festival Eucharist - Sunday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the Center for Faith and Life, join local ELCA congregations as we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Music by Norsemen, Aurora, Cantorei with Mass Choir (9th grade - adults) and Children's Choir (K-8) directed by Jennaya Robison. Congregation choir members are invited to join the choir rehearsals on Saturday, October 28, CFL Main Hall, mass choir at 10:00 a.m., children's choir at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome.
 
For Freedom Christ Has Set Us Free: Reformation Festival Hymn Sing with Marty Haugen Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Center for Faith and Life. Luther alumnus and renowned composer of church music, Marty Haugen '73, will lead a hymn sing that celebrates the role of music, hymns, and singing in the shared work of spiritual formation, proclaiming the Gospel, and building community across generations, cultures, and traditions. All are welcome.
 
Reformation Commemoration Symposium: On Tuesday, October 31, Luther College will host a symposium honoring the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.  Entitled "The Reformation of Everything, 1517-2017," the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Center for Faith and Life with a plenary address by Professor Brad Gregory of Notre Dame. The remainder of the day will consist of presentations and performances by members of the Luther College community. Click here for further information and a full program.   
 
Reformation Commemoration Concert: Tuesday, October 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for Faith and Life. The Luther College Music Department will present the Reformation Cantata, a work composed in honor of the Reformation Commemoration by four Luther College alumni and four current students. The program will also include a new work for concert band, jointly commissioned by a consortium of Lutheran colleges. Ensembles involved include the Concert Band, Collegiate Chorale, and Cathedral Choir.  More information 
Rock the Commons is this Saturday in Marty's from 4-7 p.m. There will be five local musicians and bands rocking out some solid tunes. You do not want to miss a chance to jam out to some talented Luther musicians. Some of the acts include: Shai Shay, Meadowlark Valley and Benny G. & Thehoss! KWLC can't wait to see you there.

All Saints Chapel gives us an opportunity to remember that God's promises sustain us when we celebrate the joy of new life and when we grieve the loss of loved ones. If you have name(s) of immediate family/household members someone born or who have passed away since November of 2016, please let College Ministries know so we can include them in our All Saints Chapel on November 1. BSU and PRIDE are hosting a Beyoncé Appreciation Evening (B.A.E.) on October 28 in Marty's! If you'd like to participate in a night of lip-syncing, dancing or singing to BEYONCÉ, please fill out this form. It'll be from 7:00-9:00 p.m. We will be collecting funds for hurricane relief as well as promoting racial, gender and sexual equality for all!
 
Do you feel like you have transformed as an individual since beginning college? NORP wants to know how! The Norse Organization for Research and Polling is looking for Luther students to complete their survey on identity changes since starting their education at Luther. Ryan Sallans Bookgroup -- On November 8 at 6 p.m. in Valders 206, Ryan Sallans, Transgender author, speaker, and advocate, will give a public lecture on his personal journey and gender transition. Prepare for his visit by joining a book group to read his memoir, Second Son: Transitioning to Toward my Destiny, Love, and Life, and then have an opportunity to share a meal and conversation with the author during his visit. SAC Cinema presents: Get Out - "It's time for a young African American to meet with his white girlfriend's parents for a weekend in their secluded estate in the woods, but before long, the friendly and polite ambience will give way to a nightmare. " Get out will be shown on Thursday, October 26 @ 7:30 p.m. Admission is FREE with CAF or $5 without Free popcorn while supplies last.

Got Plants? What the Health will be screened for free on Sunday, October 22 in Valders Hall of Science, Room 206 at 7:00 p.m. The film looks at the link between diet and disease, and the billions of dollars at stake in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and food industries. What the Health is also available to view on Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV, iTunes, and Amazon Video.  
 
What The Health is the groundbreaking follow-up film from the creators of the award winning documentary Cowspiracy. On Tuesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. Kip Andersen, the filmmaker will present a lecture and question & answer session. The lecture is free, but ticketed. Tickets are available from the Ticket Office in the CFL, or at tickets.luther.edu.
 
Makerspace Open House:  Friday, October 20, 5-7 p.m., CFA 210. Join us to learn about all the resources the Luther College Makerspace has to offer to everyone. See the college's 3D printer in use, and find out about resources available to support your projects. Bring a t-shirt or other fabric item to be screen printed with our LC Makerspace logo! Examining a liturgical drama known as the Visitatio sepulchri or "Visit of the sepulcher" that was performed on Easter Sunday in churches and monasteries during the Middle Ages, Melanie Batoff, assistant professor of music, will deliver a lecture titled "The Past Meets the Present: Strengthening Community through the 'Visitatio sepulchri' Liturgical Drama" at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 22, in the Choir Room of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music.
 
As a part of Luther College's Reformation festivities, the exhibit "Sola Scriptura: Biblical Text and Art Celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation," will be displayed in the upper level gallery of the Center for Faith and Life on Luther's Campus October 19 - December 3. To connect faith to its artistic expression, visitors to the exhibit are also invited to the October 31 Reformation Symposium, "The Reformation of Everything." 
 
The International Students and Allies Association (ISAA) is proud to present our annual Fashion Show on October 21 at 8 p.m. in the CFA Atrium. This year's theme  Appreciate, Don't Appropriate encourages the Luther community to join in the celebration of cultures whilst also recognizing that around the world there are instances where cultures are harmfully appropriated. Tickets are $3 at the door.
 
In celebration of Iowa Archaeology Month, the Luther College anthropology department is hosting a screening of Landscapes that Shape Us at 6 p.m. Friday, October 20, in F.W Olin Building, Room 102. A question and answer session with the producers of the documentary will follow the screening.
 
Luther students are invited to submit abstracts for the 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research, to be held April 4-7, 2018 at the University of Central Oklahoma.  Applications for on-campus selection process are due by 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2017.
