Tri Counties Bank, Allevity HR & Payroll, Healthy Solutions Insurance Services, Five Start Bank, PG&E Share Concerns
The Chamber's 6th anchor business listening session took place on October 4th with Tri Counties Bank, Allevity HR & Payroll, Healthy Solutions Insurance Services, Five Star Bank, and PG&E. The agencies shared common concerns about the quality of life in Chico and the impact on their efforts to recruit and retain employees among other topics. Thank you to Golden Valley Bank who sponsored breakfast. IMPACT: Challenges to doing business in Chico include lack of skilled workforce and broadband interconnectivity, but businesses are going on the offensive and investing strategically in Chico. Needs include a joint rail spur for manufacturers, trailing spouse jobs, and improved safety in the downtown. This feedback will influence the Chamber's Vision advocacy.
Moving Your Business Forward
Thursday, October 5th we had another great turn out to the Fall Membership Orientation with our business community learning what membership and partnership means for their business and how they are already involved in the Chamber's vision to "Move Chico Forward!" Were you not able to be a part of the orientation but want to know more? Contact Heather Ugie, Member Services & Events Manager. IMPACT: Businesses understanding how they are already involved in "Moving Chico Forward" through their support of the Chico Chamber initiatives and through their attendance at Chamber meetings and programs.
Ambassadors Drop In On Businesses
Friday, October 13th the Ambassador Membership Team completed the Otterson, Azetc and Huss Drive area. Great outreach to some of our current members and meet some new businesses too! The next November Membership Walk will continue outreach in the Otterson, Azetc and Huss Drive area.
IMPACT: The City of Chico - Public Works Department has made many improvements to the Otterson Drive area including parallel parking stalls, median stripping, and the painting of red curbs.
Successful Chico Mall / 20th Street Community Safety Meeting
Team Chico had their monthly Business Walk where they visited the Chico Mall, 20th Street and Business Lane area. This business walk specifically focused on notifying the businesses of the

Join us for our next Community Safety Meeting November 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Round Table Clubhouse - 2201 Pillsbury Road, Chico. IMPACT: Businesses and residents shared concerns with the Chico PD with regards to the Tigard Ponds, bike path, citizen clean-ups, and police present and future staffing levels. Public Works - Engineering Director shared information on the proposed pedestrian overcrossing at 20th Street near Chico Mall.
