Fall is upon us, it is time to sit by the fire and stay warm during those crisp autumn days. Need a new indoor activity? How about Finger Knitting? Anna Cook will demonstrate the proper way to finger knit and teach participants the ins and outs of this fun activity. Once you’ve got the hang of it, Anna will present several templates for guests to choose from. Make a snake, headband or bracelet to take home. There are a limited number of spaces available so please register by Thursday, October 19.

Join us to learn all about everyone’s favorite fall fruit – the apple. We’ll learn about the different parts of an apple and how it grows. Then we’ll read a couple books, do a tasting – including homemade applesauce – and end by playing with our food and creating an apple inspired craft. Kiddos will head home with easy recipes to make apple treats at home.

Mushrooms are not only tasty and good for you, they’re easy to grow too. Sandra and Doug Williams will discuss the major types of mushrooms and two easy varieties to grow – Shiitake and Oyster. They’ll teach you the steps of starting your own colony and will delve into the many benefits of mushrooms to people, animals and the environment. A tasting will be enjoyed.

Help us wind down the fall season by joining us for our Spooky Pooch Parade on the Great Lawn. Special guest judges will present prizes to the best and most creatively dressed pooches! You don’t have to register a dog to take part in the fun or even have a dog. Bring the family and be an observer and visit Pumpkinville. Pitchfork in the Park is offering a $1 discount if you bring your dog in costume over to Pitchfork during the event!

Calling all photographers! Come shoot mini sessions and bring your clients to the Children’s Garden after hours to get your favorite shots with the best lighting. In partnership with Oklahoma City Rotary Club, the Tree Bank Foundation and Cedar Valley Nurseries

Join us Saturday, November 4 from 9 a.m. to Noon for a tree giveaway, tree sales and free programs on how to plant and care for trees. We are able to provide at no charge or for a lost cost, more than 1,000 3-gallon trees to the community. This is possible thanks to our presenting sponsor Cox Communications, along with Rotary Club of Oklahoma City and a continued partnership with the Tree Bank Foundation and Cedar Valley Nurseries.

Trees will be available for $9 for members, $10 for nonmembers and individuals can purchase up to two trees per household. In addition we will giveaway 200 free 3-gallon trees at the start of Tree For All.

Join other runners in a 5K run, led by Ultramax Sports Oklahoma, through the scenic downtown area as the sun sets. Those who pay $5 will be entered in a drawing for prizes from Red Coyote Running and Fitness.

Bring your bike and meet up a for a leisurely one hour ride. Downtown-area routes are specially planned by Schlegel Bicycles. Don’t have a bike? Rent a Spokie! Lights and helmets are required. Those who pay $5 will be entered in a drawing for prizes from Schlegel Bicycles.
