We release What's on the MOVES to the first and third Friday of the month. Our goal is to share information about upcoming events, agency news and relevant announcements with the DC MOVES mailing list. If you have information to share through this bulletin, please contact the DC MOVES Coordinator  Carol Good.

New and Improved Website - Better Together

At the DC MOVES Forum held on September 15, we provided a sneak peak at the new DC MOVES website. Since then we have been adding pages and images and other useful functions. We have appreciated contributions of Dufferin images from DC MOVES members. They will be used on the homepage carousel and to support the priority pillars - as they say a picture is worth a thousand words!

You will be able to register for current events, retrieve materials from past events, get caught up on the priority pillar workplans and access additional resources to support collaborations and systems integration.

Please visit and take a tour - http://dcmoves.org/ - your feedback is welcome.

Poverty Reduction
 Drop off Deadline Looming Large

The summer months were abuzz with activity for HatsOnDufferin. As the initiative gained momentum, many organizations, clubs, and individuals from across Dufferin County worked to contribute in one way or another. Fast forward to today and HatsonDufferin has reached 2078 hats that will be keeping the heads of our children warm this winter. As the initiative pushes ever forward towards its goal, preparations are being made for the big delivery to the schools. November 4th, 2017 is the deadline for hat drop-offs at all the drop-off locations around the County. There is still plenty of work to be done between now and November 4th, but HatsOnDufferin is confident that this community will continue to work together to ensure that no child is left without a warm hat this winter.

Free BDO Seminar - Duties and Liabilities of Directors and Officers of Charities and NFPs

On November 30, 2017, in Orangeville, BDO will be presenting a free seminar for Board members and senior managers of Not-for Profits (NFPs) and Charities. These organizations are guided by a dedicated group of volunteer directors who need to have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities in conjunction with those of management in order to achieve effective good governance. It's important that both management teams and Boards of Directors understand their responsibilities and liabilities to the organization, its stakeholders and themselves. Terrance Carter, Carters Professional Corporation, will be our guest speaker and will share his knowledge and experience serving many charities and not-for-profit organizations.  For more information or to register, go here.

And we have lift off!

Last Thursday, October 12, at Monora Park Pavilion, the new and improved www.volunteerdufferin.ca was launched with much fanfare and fantastic food! Please take a tour and make sure that your organization is registered.
