A preview of what St. James children are up to - more to come!
Thoughts from the Director
Dear Families,
Well it is a typical Kansas Fall, meaning we experience all four seasons almost weekly! As a person who enjoys the heat and dreads the cold, I can officially say I'm ready for a bit of cooler weather.

The kids are really enjoying Sunday school as I hear lots of giggles coming from classrooms and love to see all the craft activities they are creating. Soon, they will start creating ornaments for their annual service project, the Alternative Gift Market.

Read below for information about our Halloween event for the kids! It is always a great turnout and this year we are adding even more activities for the kids. We hope to see you there!

Blessings,
Chelsea Whipple

Sunday School
Godly Play ages 3 - 1st grade

The youngsters are learning about different Bible characters. They spend lots of time learning, reflecting and playing. Mrs. Sandra and Mrs. Amber keep them busy with lots of hands on activities. Next up, stewardship and the Alternative Gift Market.
Episcopal Children's Curriculum (ECC) 2nd - 5th grade

The older students have also been learning about different Old Testament Bible characters. They like to discuss the different stories and how to relate the characters life to ours today. Next up, stewardship and the Alternative Gift Market.
Alternative Gift Market Project

The Alternative Gift Market is on Saturday, Nov. 11th at University Congregational (9209 E 29th St N) from 10am-4pm. St. James will be hosting a mini-market on Sun. Nov. 12th at Breakfast Sunday in the Guild Hall.

This year, the children are sponsoring Trained Teachers = Better Students.Teach for life, a program of Trees for Life, gives powerful instructional videos from highly trained teachers to share their most effective techniques with teachers in need of training - in their own native language. As teachers around the world become trained, they can offer a higher quality education to help children reach their potential.

Please come and support the children and their service project. They make ornaments for the Gift Market during Sunday school. When you make a donation to this project, or any other project, you receive an ornament to place on your tree. It is a great way to give a gift to someone in need!
