(Los Angeles) - October 19, 2017 - Last week, Google, in partnership with the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT), Bella Graham Consulting, Eileen Kahn Consulting and TheRoot.com hosted "Dress Code," a tech-meets-fashion event designed to show high school teens that computer science can take many forms.

Hosted by actress/singer/model Cierra Ramirez  clad in an LED dress,  "Dress Code" featured an interactive tech fair that included robots, 3D-printed items, E-textiles, Android watches and a VR experience. Additionally, guests enjoyed motivational panel discussions with YouTube creators and fashion VIPs.

Speakers included Daraiha Greene (Head of CS in Media Multicultural Strategy, Google); Shirin Salemnia (Founder & CEO of PlayWerks and WhizGirls Academy); Jon Youshaei (Product Marketing Manager, Google); Cloe Couture (YouTuber); Darren Moulden (Fashion, Lifestyle, and Travel Influencer); Ale La Chula (YouTuber and Owner, LA Sunnies); Jon Phenom (Digital Media Strategist/Fashion Branding); Brittany Dke (YouTuber); Bria Sullivan (Software Engineer, Google); Nina Vir (Founder and CEO, Daily Dress Me); Nina Walia (Experience Design Lead, Jacquard by Google); Janne Kyttanen (3D Designer, and Co-Founder, Pixsweet); Dalia MacPhee (Celebrity Fashion Designer); and Ishamel Mayhew (Digital Media Strategist/Fashion Branding).

"Dress Code" is the third event in Google's "CS+X" series, a program that travels the country talking to students about how their passions can become coding careers. Prior CS+X events were "Hacking the Note," which highlighted CS+Music, and "Program the Beat," which encouraged students to see how dance comes alive with code. The next event, a CS+Sports discussion entitled "Tech Slam," will take place October 26 in Mountain View, CA.
