PRESBYTERY EXECUTIVE
RACHEL YATES NAMED PRESBYTERY EXECUTIVE
The Council of the Presbytery of Milwaukee is pleased to name Rachel Yates as Presbytery  Executive. Rachel most recently served the Presbyterian Church as Associate Director for Programs at the Presbyterian Mission Agency in Louisville, Kentucky.

"I am excited that Rachel Yates has accepted our invitation to serve as Milwaukee's next Presbytery Executive. I am impressed by her passion for good communication and interpretation and grateful for the gifts she will bring to us in nurturing strategic thinking and collaboration," says Rob Ater, Moderator of Council at the Presbytery of Milwaukee.

"The executive search committee is thrilled to have Rachel Yates as our new Executive," says Lee Tan, Chairperson of the Executive Search Committee. "We were impressed with her gracious presence, as well as her previous work at both the Presbytery and Denominational level. The committee is excited to walk beside Rachel as she joins the Presbytery and helps us unpack how God is calling our Presbytery to be a prophetic voice in Southeast Wisconsin, the nation, and the world."

Rachel spent 23 years at the law firm of Holland & Hart in Denver, Colorado, the last 13 years as a partner. She has served as a ruling elder, clerk of session and co-chair of the "Faith in Action" team at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Denver, as well as serving two terms on the Denver Presbytery Council. She continues to co-chair the presbytery's mission and ministry workgroup. Rachel has a bachelor of arts in religious studies from Stanford University and a juris doctorate from the Boston University School of Law.

Please join us in welcoming Rachel Yates. She will be officially presented as the council and search committee's nominee at the November presbytery meeting and if the way be clear, will begin her ministry among us on January 1. There will be an expanded article and more details in  the weeks ahead. In the meantime, Mary McClung has graciously agreed to extend her Transitional Presbytery Leader contract through December 31 to provide important continuity and support during this time of transition.
INTERIM CONGREGATIONAL CARE COORDINATOR
ANN GIBBS APPOINTED TO SERVE AS INTERIM CONGREGATIONAL CARE COORDINATOR
On behalf of the Presbytery Council and its Personnel Work Group, I am pleased to report that the Rev. Ann Gibbs has been appointed to the position of Interim Congregational Care Coordinator. Ann will begin part-time on November 1 and full-time on November 27. The position will continue to support the work of the Commissions on Ministry and Preparation for Ministry. In the spring, the Personnel Work Group plans to review the position description and needs of the presbytery with the goal of filling the position (or a similar one) permanently. As we continue through this time of transition together, your ideas and input are welcomed!

Ann Gibbs is well known to many in the Presbytery of Milwaukee. She has been the pastor of Faith Springs Presbyterian Church in Pewaukee for ten years and currently serves as presbytery moderator and a member of Council and the Presbytery Meeting Planning Team. Previously, Ann served on the Commission on Ministry and Session Partnerships (serving as chair from 2012-2015). She describes, "discerning a call to middle governing body leadership, particularly in regards to working with congregations and their leaders." A very relational leader, Ann hopes to draw on the relationships she already has with many elders, ministers, chaplains and congregations as she helps to support mission and ministry among us! And, as she moves into this new position, Ann will step away from her other roles in the presbytery (moderator, council, planning team) by the time she begins her full time work at the end of November.

The Council enthusiastically makes this appointment and invites you to join us in warmly welcoming Ann Gibbs to this new ministry among us!

The Rev. Robert W. Ater, Moderator
Presbytery Council
