Keith M. Wirth, AIA
, of Hope Michigan passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, September 27, 2017.
Keith was the current AIA Saginaw Valley President. He was a graduate of Meridian High School and earned a BA from Lawrence Tech in Southfield, Michigan. He was employed as an architect by Three Rivers Corporation for over 17 years.

Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant
Deadline
The application deadline for the LeBrun Grant is November 1st by 5:00 pm EST.
If the deadline falls on a weekend, the application must be submitted by 5pm on the following Monday.
Award
Single award of $15,000.
Purpose
To further the personal and professional development of an architect in early or mid-career through travel. Travel plans should be focused on a selected topic of interest to the individual, rather than a part of a larger humanitarian or institutional endeavor. If appropriate, the winner may be asked to present at the Center for Architecture upon return.
Eligibility
Applicants must be U.S. citizens with a professional degree in architecture as well as practicing architects, either licensed or unlicensed. Academics may apply, but must also be practicing architects.

The Masonry Institute of Michigan in cooperation with
AIA Michigan announces its 43rd Annual Masonry Honor Award Program for Excellence in Masonry Design. The Masonry Awards Program seeks to honor works of distinction by members of AIA Michigan and to bring to public attention outstanding buildings and projects designed by AIA Michigan architects.
To qualify for entry, buildings must use masonry as the primary exterior material and the architect must show masonry was important in the solution of the
design problem.
Projects will be judged on the basis of the appropriate and innovative use of unit masonry construction as well as excellence in design. Unit masonry includes brick, block, stone, and glass block masonry construction laid in in the traditional manner bedded in mortar by masons.
Intent to Enter deadline: October 6, 2017
Submissions due electronically: December 15, 2017
Judging: January 2018
Awards Reception: April 2018
