Northland Democratic Club
The September meeting of the Northland Democratic Club featured a presentation by State
Jon Carpenter
Representative Jon Carpenter. He gave a review of the Veto Session in which Governor Greitens vetoed the bi-partisan bill that would have taken unused state funds to offset the cost of home health care services for 8,000 Missouri seniors, disabled people and veterans. A discussion followed about the importance of finding and supporting Democratic candidates for the legislature in 2018.
 
 
The Young Democrats Club from the North Kansas City School District was on hand for the meeting.

Nathan Hernandez from ResistHate KC spoke on his organizations efforts to connect with local organizations to influence the legislative process, defend and advance human rights, and hold our elected officials accountable  
 
 
The next meeting of the Northland Democratic Club on October 17 will feature Kansas City Councilman Dan Fowler speaking about the New Airport Proposal that will appear on the November 7, 2017 ballot.
 
Platte County Federated Women's Democratic Club 
The Women's Club met for a social gathering at the American Legion Hall in Parkville on Monday, October 9. The Platte County Resource Center was closed because of Columbus Day aka Native American Day. There was no formal meeting but former candidate for the Missouri State Legislature Tyler McCall stopped by to introduce a candidate for the Missouri Sixth Congressional District Jacques Chery. Platte County Legislative Breakfast 
The Chamber of Commerce Breakfast brought together elected officials from Platte County for a Q & A panel discussion with the public.
