SBA WEEKLY UPDATES:

Monday, October 9 - Two-Hour Morning Delay Schedule:
Following Open House, Monday, October 9 will be a two-hour delay for all students and faculty.
Classes will begin at 10:00 AM and dismissal will be at 3:00 PM; students must arrive by 9:50 AM.
Busses will run on a NORMAL SCHEDULE, and the school will be open at regular time. Students who arrive before 9:50 AM may use the Learning Commons, AP Room, and cafeteria to study and do classwork.

Community Day 2017:
Community Day will be held on Friday, October 6. All Juniors and Seniors must sign up for service sites using the following link:

Book Fees:
Book fees for all students are past due. If you have not paid for your daughter's books, please make final payments through the Finance Office. Questions, please email

Counseling & College Services
We have implemented an Advisory class for all students. All students must report to Advisory class during the first 30 minutes of the lunch period. Please view complete
Advisory schedule with room assignments. This schedule is also posted on the main floor bulletin board.

Juniors and Seniors:
The following colleges and universities will be visiting Saint Basil Academy during the week of October 2nd. If you would like to meet with a college representative, please sign up on Naviance. Also please get permission from your teacher if your visit is during class time.

The PSAT and Pre-ACT testing day is Wednesday, October 11. Please find your student's room assignment for her test here. This schedule is also posted on the main floor bulletin board.

The FAFSA can be filed as early as October 1. Go to
FAFSA.gov.

AP Tests:
The Collegeboard has announced the cost of the 2018 AP tests at $94 per test. Every student that has elected to take an AP class is required to take the AP exam in May of 2018, as outlined in the Program of Study.
When making a payment please make all checks payable to Saint Basil Academy. If you wish to pay by credit card, please pay on the
SBA website. SBA will charge $94 per exam. We ask that all payments be made by
October 31, 2017.

It's never too early to start planning for a college education for our children. Please join us on

Travel for Teens:
The TFT Trip websites are live for the England Traveler Trip and Costa Rica Service Adventure Trip! Please check out the links for more information about each trip.
The Travel for Teens Parents meeting for both trips will be held on Tuesday, October 17th at 7:00 pm in the cafeteria.

Parents' Club
Parents Club General Meeting, Thursday, October 5th:
Our first Parents Club General meeting will take place on Thursday, October 5th at 7pm. W
e invite new parents to attend at 6 pm for a Meet & Greet.
We will be offering beer, wine and light fare. Take the opportunity to meet other new parents or chat with seasoned parents with your questions.
Our guest speaker this month will be our Principal, Mrs Connie D'Angelo.

Volunteer forms can be returned to school anytime, or you can bring them to the first Parents' Club General Meeting on Thursday, October 5th.

Abington Library Teen Book Club:
The library is offering a session on The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness on Wednesday, October 18th from 4 - 5 p.m. for ages 12-18. Teens can sign up early for a free copy of the book. Register at the Library Information Desk (215-885-5180 x13) or online.
