Suicide Prevention and Awareness Event
The Sociology Club and Health Services will host a suicide prevention and awareness event on Monday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. in Room 1413. With Hope, The Amber Craig Memorial Foundation will provide presentation, resources, and a Q&A session. The event is open to all students, faculty and staff.
Save the Date! Fullerton College Night of Hockey with the Anaheim Ducks is Nov. 12!
Join Fullerton College for a night of hockey with the Anaheim Ducks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning at the Honda Center on Sunday, Nov. 12. Proceeds from the event, which is sponsored by Associated Students in partnership with the Anaheim Ducks, will benefit the A.S. CareBank. Tickets are on sale online or can be purchased during FC Club Rush on Tuesday, Oct. 10 and Wednesday, Oct. 11 on the quad from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The first 750 tickets sold will include a custom Fullerton College and Anaheim Ducks co-branded hat. Student Spotlight: Meet Lianna Romero!
Lianna Romero is a first-generation college student entering her second year at Fullerton College. As a kinesiology major her goal is to transfer to San Diego State University to earn a bachelor's degree in pre-occupational therapy and continue her education at Loma Linda University until she reaches her career goal of occupational therapist.

3rd Annual Ethnic Studies Summit
The 3rd annual Fullerton College Ethnic Studies Summit will be held on Friday, Oct. 13 and Saturday, Oct. 14. This free, public two-day conference and celebration brings together students of all ages with scholar-activists, educators, organizers, artists, and the local community to explore the theme "Liberation, Autonomy, and Self-Determination." The event features renowned speakers, interactive workshops, dialogue circles, research presentations, multi-genre performances, film screenings, and a resources fair and artisan marketplace. Receive Assistance On CSU Transfer with this Workshop
The Transfer Center is offering three CSU application workshops this week. The workshops are on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 6 at noon, and Saturday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. This workshop guides students through the most difficult parts of the CSU application such as calculating transferable: units, grade points, and GPA. Three Student Success Workshops Offered This Week
Basic Skills is hosting various Student Success Workshops during the fall semester. These workshops are open to all Fullerton College students, in any discipline, and are facilitated by graduate students in the Basic Skills Graduate Student Mentorship Program. This week the All in a Day's Work: Time Management Tips for Success workshop is on Monday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. in Room 325. The Classroom Notetaking and Organization Tips workshop is on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at noon in Room 808A. Finally the More Tools, Less Problems: Study Tools and Strategies for Success workshop is Friday, Oct. 6 at noon in Room 325.

Get Transfer-Related Help This Saturday
This Saturday, Oct. 7, the Transfer Center will be open for extra hours. Open from 9 a.m. to 1p.m., the center will be offering a variety of transfer services. This is a great way for students who work during the day to access Transfer Center services! The #1 Hornets went up to Moorpark College on Saturday night and shutout the Raiders 57-0.
Up Next: FC has a bye this coming Saturday but will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 14 when they travel to Grossmont College. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m.
Women's Water Polo
Fullerton has had a rough time of it lately dropping four straight games. Last Wednesday, they fell 16-6 to Orange Coast College, and then lost three in a row at the Cuesta College tournament to Long Beach (10-7), American River (10-9), and Cuesta (7-5). Up Next: Fullerton (6-8 overall, 2-1 OEC) will host Golden West College on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.
Men's Water Polo
FC lost a close one to Orange Coast last Wednesday 11-8.

Women's Volleyball
The Hornets dropped their second straight match at home Friday night against top-ranked Irvine Valley College 3-0.
Up Next: FC (4-7 overall, 1-4 OEC) will try and pick it back up next Friday, Oct. 6 when they go to Orange Coast College. Game time is at 6 p.m.
Women's Soccer
Fullerton remains undefeated in the Orange Empire Conference after tying Saddleback College 0-0 at home last Friday.

Hall of Fame
Legendary Hornet coach Ernie Polte passed on last Thursday night at his home in San Clemente. Polte was 90 years old and had been fighting advanced stage of liver cancer for several months. An FC graduate, Polte coached and taught at Fullerton from 1962 to 1990 winning 12 conference titles, six SoCal titles, and three state championships. He was one of the first of watermen to swim, play water polo, scuba dive, compete in lifeguard competition, open water swims right up to his 90th birthday. Services will be announced at a later date.

FC Art Collection: Color and Contrast

The Fullerton College Art Department is proud to be in the possession of a very fine and envied collection of paintings, drawings, prints, and other objets d'art. "Color and Contrast" seeks to highlight and share some of the collection's finest examples, including works by prominent and influential figures such as Milford Zornes, Ruth Ellen Weisberg, Hung Liu, and Thomas Campbell. Stunning works by lesser known artists are also featured in this important exhibition that signals the beginning of a new, productive and exciting academic year.

Richard Bean's hilarious comedy, One Man, Two Guvnors has 5-star reviews from every London newspaper and was the hit of the 2012 Broadway season. This Fullerton College performance is directed by Timothy Espinosa.
