The Next Big Thing for Oracle: Insights from OpenWorld

Recently, martinwolf Associate Kevin Chang and Vice President Matthew Putzulu attended the Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco. After meeting with partners and experts in the Oracle space, they've put together key findings in their latest article on LinkedIn.

With over two dozen new product release announcements, Oracle made its usual high-profile splash and continued to emphasize its cloud-centric positioning. Yet amidst the familiar, Oracle revealed new developments in machine learning  with the introduction of  its autonomous database, 18c. In  what Larry Ellison called  the first "fully-autonomous" and "self-driving" database on the market, 18c is the first-generation service in a suite of databases optimized for different workloads -- and will power the Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud.

In addition to providing commentary on such developments, including strengthened  security and artificial intelligence,  the martinwolf team evaluates which tools can  enhance partner offerings going forward. Keeping in mind the company's aim of full end-to-end automation, the team also considers how Oracle's recent initiatives can affect its standing in the intensifying cloud competition.
