Chocolate: The Exhibition
is here until Jan. 7, 2018!

Chocolate: The Exhibition, presented by Flagstar Bank, travels through time to explore chocolate’s rainforest origins, its use by ancient cultures including the Maya of Central America, and its transformation by the Europeans into the sweet treat that is loved today.
Exhibit ticket prices: Adults: $8 for non-members; $7 for members; $6 for seniors and children 2-12. Non-members must also pay museum admission.
Chocolate and its national tour were developed by The Field Museum, Chicago and were supported, in part, by the National Science Foundation.

Strange science is almost here…don’t forget to register for Halloween Science!

Halloween Science is just a few weeks away, and space is filling up for the Institute’s most popular event. Haunted happenings include hands-on activities, make-and-take stations, planetarium shows, spooktacular science, and a visit from the renowned Dr. Kelp to discuss his contact with alien civilization.
Ticket prices: $10/person for pre-registered members; $15/person for pre-registered non-members; walk-up tickets are an additional $3 each, and availability is not guaranteed.

Chemistry Rocks! at Cranbrook Institute of Science Oct. 28
|
|
In support of
National Chemistry Week (Oct. 22-28), and this year’s theme, “Chemistry Rocks!” the Institute will host the
American Chemical Society, Saturday, October 28, from 3-6pm. Children and adults can participate in hands-on chemistry activities.
Chemistry Rocks! is included in museum admission that day, and all Scout programs on Oct. 28. Participating Scouts will receive a patch from the American Chemical Society.

Kids and caregivers are invited to ask questions, make observations and share new discoveries as
Young Scientists returns Tuesday, Oct. 3. New for this year, participants will have the opportunity to dive deep into popular science disciplines by registering for four-week sessions. Each session is unique – join us for one, or sign up for all six, including botany, engineering, paleontology, physics, chemistry and zoology.

kicks off this Thanksgiving with an immersion into the world of dinosaurs: discovering them like a paleontologist would (dig!) and learning about what it takes to reveal a dinosaur.
