Keeping Your Child Safe

The Dallastown Area School District is committed to a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders. Recent enhancements include a reconfiguration of school physical entrances, the use of the Raptor V-Soft Security System, revisions to district-wide lock down protocols, and the establishment of an active shooter and parent/guardian-student reunification protocol, to name a few.

In the event of an emergency, parents and guardians will be notified by School Messenger, e-mail, and district/school websites. The Dallastown Area School District Parent/Guardian-Student Emergency Reunification Plan was developed as part of the district's Comprehensive Emergency Plan. The purpose of the plan is simple: to get you and your child back together as quickly and safely as possible in times of an emergency.

Asbestos Notice

Dallastown Area School District has developed an Asbestos Management Plan as required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA).

Every six months the maintenance department inspects and every three years an inspection is conducted by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry's licensed asbestos inspectors of any building constructed before the late 1970s to determine whether the condition of any known or assumed asbestos-containing materials (ACM) has changed. The inspector will make recommendations on managing or removing the ACM.

The Asbestos Management Plan is available for public review in the Buildings and Grounds Office.

DASD Partners

Dallastown Area School District has collaborated with Market Street Sports Group of Lancaster, PA, with a shared commitment to generate alternative revenue through sponsorship opportunities for the district's extracurricular facilities, such as the successful payoff of the DAEF Turf Field Campaign.

September is Attendance Awareness Month

Chronic absence is solved when the whole community plays a part.  With your assistance, we can increase attendance for these students. How can you help? Some students miss school because they don't have items such as alarm clocks, uniforms or school supplies.

This year, the United Way of York County is coordinating donations of these items through York County schools. With your help we can make a difference in the lives of children in York County and motivate them to attend school every day.
