5k Certified Run 8:00am, 10k Certified Run 8:15am, 2mi fun run/walk 8:45am. On-site registration opens at 6:30am. Live music, pancake breakfast, and Healthy Lifestyles Fair. Plus a Bike Safety Clinic!

Trick or Treat Street Friday, October 27, 4pm-6pm, Downtown Lafayette
For a fun, safe Halloween event, children and their parents are invited to Trick-or-Treat on Mt. Diablo Blvd. from Plaza Way to Dewing Ave, Lafayette Circle and in La Fiesta Square from 4:00-6:00pm on Friday, October 27, 2017. Share the event on Facebook! Don't forget to bring a Trick-or-Treat bag.
If you are located along the route and would like to participate in our Downtown Trick or Treat Street please send Sara an email, sara@lafayettechamber.org, to confirm your spot. We will deliver a balloon to each participating vendor the afternoon of the 27th and a participating poster will be distributed this week.

39th Annual Thanksgiving Community Breakfast

Reservations are now being accepted for our annual Thanksgiving Breakfast! This year, the breakfast will be held at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Center. Keynote speaker will be Deanne Pearn, MPP Executive Director of Contra Costa Interfaith Housing. The event will be catered by Jeff Assadi of La Finestra! Music provided by Wendy Tamis, Harpist. Women's Wellness 101

Assemblywoman Baker is hosting a women's health event in partnership with John Muir Health called Women's Wellness 101. The event is on Monday, October 16th from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Ball Auditorium at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The event will include a panel comprising of a cardiologist, a breast cancer physician, and a Ob/Gyn doctor. We will also have blood pressure screenings and a self-breast exam booth.

"Kicking off the Holiday Season" Canned Food Drive: Oct 16 - 27
This fall, RecycleSmart with Republic Services is partnering with the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano to collect food for people in our community who may not have enough to eat. Your donation makes a real difference to people in our community who may not have enough to eat. Please drop off any canned food you would like to donate in the labeled barrels at the locations listed
here between October 16-27.
$1500 Waste Reduction Grant is Now Accepting Applications
Republic Services will award a community waste reduction project within the RecycleSmart service area with a $1,500 grant. Projects must be related to recycling, composting or other waste-reduction initiatives. These can be new projects or existing projects that need some help expanding. Applications are now open - please complete the online application form by October 20.

Contra Costa County Strategic Prevention Plan

Come join fellow Lamorinda community members on October 19 from 5:30-7:45 to help with the creation of the 2018-2023 Contra Costa County Strategic Prevention Plan. The plan dictates where the County's prevention efforts will be focused when it comes to reducing underage substance use and prescription drug misuse and abuse. The ADAPT (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team) Lamorinda Coalition follows this Strategic Prevention Plan.

This character-driven story is a fresh, innovative reinvention of the illustrated novel.
