Georgia Department of Education Releases 2016-2017 4 Year Cohort Graduation Rate
Monroe County Schools Graduation Rate is Strong
Earlier today, the Georgia Department of Education released 2016-2017 4 year cohort graduation rates for high schools in Georgia. Monroe County Schools is pleased to announce the 2016-2017 graduation rate for Mary Persons High School is 86.826% (87%). This figure represents 290 graduates, the highest ever at MPHS. The previous high with regard to total graduates was 265.

The state average for graduation rate in 2016-2017 was 80.556% (81%). Even though we have much work to do to reach our ultimate goal of every student graduating in 4 years, we are extremely proud our local graduation rate continues to exceed the state average.

We would like to congratulate our graduates, our teachers and support staff, our parents, and our community members for supporting student performance and success in our school district. Graduation is a culminating step for our students made possible through the collaborative efforts of supportive stakeholders who care deeply about our students and their future. And it shows!

Thanks again for a job well done!
