Concerned Citizens for Avila
A Community Action Group
October 2, 2017
Together we can protect the natural environment,
safety and accessibility of Avila.
You're Invited to CC4A's
First Annual Meeting
Now that we have bylaws and a board of directors, it is time for our first official annual meeting:

Friday, October 13, 2017, 1:30 pm
San Luis Bay Estates,  Indian Hill Clubhouse

We hope you can join us for a recap of the last two and a half years since our group formed and the amazing accomplishments we have achieved together. Read highlights HERE.

If you plan on attending and live outside the Estates, let us know so we can notify the gatehouse.

Peter Douglas, past executive director of the California Coastal Commission, said in 2001, "The coast is never saved. It is always being saved."  We will discuss the challenges of what lies ahead and our hopes for the future.

Tribune Article on
Event Permitting Issue
At every SLO County Board of Supervisors meeting in August and September volunteers organized by CC4A spoke about the problems of unpermitted events in Avila.

The SLO Tribune just published an article on the issue and our efforts. Here's the link in case you missed it.   Please watch for a special bulletin from CC4A in the next few days!

First Fundraiser Helps Keep
CC4A in Business
CC4A's first fundraising event drew 48 contributions and raised over $1100. Attendees at the September 7 event were treated to photos and the fascinating history of the narrow gauge railroad that came to Avila in the 1870's.  We thank Andrew Merriam for the presentation, Sharon Suits for the homemade treats and each of you who donated for keeping our mission alive.
