MIDDLE SCHOOL THEATRE
FALL PRODUCTION!
SHREK JR.
A new era of middle school theatre has begun at FMMS, and we are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Stefanie Fatzinger back to Canton Local School District to lead our middle and high school theatre programs!

Mrs. Fatzinger is collaborating with a team of teachers to lead our student production of Shrek, Jr. (We even have some "special guests" taking part in the show!)

Our students are working hard to prepare for their performances!

The FMMS production of Shrek, Jr. will take place:

Saturday, November 4 at 7:00PM

At the beautiful, new Canton South High School Performing Arts Center!

VETERAN'S DAY
IS COMING SOON!
Our annual Faircrest Memorial Middle School Veteran's Day Program will take place on Friday, November 10, 2017.

Mr. Ben Palumbo, seventh grade Social Studies teacher, is our program coordinator. Mr. Palumbo is working with a fantastic committee of FMMS teachers and staff to develop the event this year.

Veterans are invited to reserve a seat at this wonderful celebration.

A breakfast will be served at 9:00AM, followed by a student program honoring U.S. Military Veterans and their service.

Please RSVP for the event by Friday, October 27 , with FMMS Committee Member, Michelle Helms.

COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS
GRADES 7-12
Students and families of seventh and eighth grade students interested in learning about the College Credit Plus Program (CCP) for the 2018-2019 school year are invited to attend an informational meeting:

Ohio's College Credit Plus program gives students in grades 7-12 the chance to earn high school AND college credit simultaneously. There is no cost to families to take CCP courses.

We have several CCP courses available at Canton South High School, for students who will be in grades 9-12 next year. High school students can also take classes online or on the college campus.

Middle school students can take CCP courses online or on the college campus.

To qualify for CCP, students have to take college placement test to make sure that they are college ready.

CHESS TEAM
The FMMS Chess Team practices every Thursday after school until 3:30PM.

Chess Team members participate in Stark Youth Chess League Events!

Permission slips for Chess Team are available in the FMMS office.
PRINCIPAL TALK TIME
All parents are welcome to attend Principal Talk Time meetings!

Join in conversations with the principal regarding programs, practices, safety, and other topics of your choice.

Meetings start at 6:00PM, and are held in the FMMS Cafeteria.

FMMS CARE TEAM
The Care Team includes teachers, administrators and staff from community agencies including law enforcement, mental heath, alcohol and drug prevention, and other social service agencies from Stark County.

As a team, they work together to provide resources that students and families need to excel and gain resiliency.

Attention is focused on building meaningful relationships with caring adults such as mentors and service providers.

Students and families are referred to the Care Team by school counselors, teachers, administrators, community members, and self-referral.

If you feel your child or family would benefit from the services of the FMMS Care Team, please contact Mrs. Sarah Rauckhorst.

FMMS LUNCH MENUS
Canton Local School District provides FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH to all Walker Elementary and Faircrest Memorial Middle School Students.

LADY WILDCATS
YOUTH SOFTBALL
The Canton South youth softball program has undergone some fresh changes, and is under a new name!

There will be a parent meeting for Lady Wildcats Youth Softball on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 6:00PM in the Canton South High School cafeteria .

WILDCAT YOUTH BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
(grades 5-6)
The LAST DATE to sign up for Wildcat Youth Basketball Season is this TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 6:00PM - 8:00PM in the FMMS cafeteria.

All children must be signed up to be eligible to play.

Fees are $85 for the first child, and $60 for the second. Fees are accepted and appreciated at the time you sign up.

Uniform sizing will also take place during sign ups, so please bring your player with you!
